At 26 inches...what is available here costs too much...yes, I did the research.
A good 1080p TV at that size costs about $7000 TT.  Not cool.

Even with shipping and Customs charges, I'm sure a 26-inch shouldn't cross $5000.

Care to tell us the model Blu_ViCe?

$5000????

Mine cost lest than $3000.00 lol

You can get 42" TVs, 1080p for $8000.00 right now. (Pricemart)

My padner just bought a 52" for $10,000 and all.

Check the papers, prices gone crazy with christmas sales

I'd say anything under US$1000 with a small form factor is an easy buy online.

Over that and with considerable size, the mileage begins to vary dramatically and the local warranty might prove valuable.

There are items (a portable air condition unit for example) that actually costs less here in Pricesmart than it would if purchased online and delivered through a skybox.

Same would apply to some big TV 52" and so.

A small, light TV (32") costing US$500 should be a safe bet imo.

and blu-vice, did you go with a 26" LCD with HDMI (and no TV turner) like I did? If so you'd get a steal of a deal as it classes under Monitors which carry no vat and duty.

TVs that get level charge (unless the customs officer is feeling the spirit of Christmas lol)

exactly.
link to said LCD u speak of

panasonic 720p
was lookin into the viore 1080p but read d aspect ratio is not 16:9 an instead 16:10.5
and the images are always vertically stretched and there is no way to correct it and tbh u wont really see the difference in resolution on a tv that size anyway.....at least i dont

both had all the connections i was lookin for ......component, s-video and pc input
and yea it should come up to 5000 lol
seein as my skybox tell me the shippin go b around 500TT

You'll find pix of the connections available on the unit there as well. (component, hdmi, pc input)

Awesome monitor  with no input lag (for gaming) and full 1080p @ US$299.00. Hard to beat.

Keep in mind that a lot of those 'deals' you seeing locally (quite a few in the papers) are for 720p TVs eh...not 1080p.

A lot of people running them down without really understanding what they're paying for.

When was the last time anyone bought a new game online ? (not checking direct to system delivery)

Modern Warfare 2 for the 360 is $60 usd, pay for standard shipping and it should be $65 usd, That comes up to just under $420 TTD, and we have not even factored the skybox/customs cost.... The game is selling @ Jk entertainment for $475 TTD.

ME!!!!!
jus d other day GOW collection
420TTD? u sure? i hav amazon prime so is free shippin for me so da price is around 378TTD IF i takin a brand new game at full price

if i takin tekken 6 i buyin away cuz i takin d LE (79US lat time i check) an d price for that down here does b ridiculous.
sheltech was sellin d mw2 prestige for 2Gs+..........madness
d sfiv arcade stick was 2500 by them too

brand new games that cost 50-60US on amazon i buy down here UNLESS i gettin a pre order special.

other than that i get new games cheap from amazon
paid 25US for GTAIV new,
right now i cud pick up Far Cry 2 brand spankin new for 15US on amazon last time i checked
i does do my lil research before i jump out an buy a game

take infamous and prototype both i had initially wanted but said i go take infamous 1st an proto price will drop significantly in d very near future and it did

if u buyin a game that jus hit d shelves, is best u buy down here but for games a few months old i sure u cud get it cheap on amazon dependin on wat d game is

(just to make a fair comparison) How much did you pay for amazon prime to get that "free shipping"?

also, I dunno if you've got females in your house...but if you do....attaching a cable box to your "TV" could mean trouble, lol

I left mine to play the role of "Monitor" and Game screen. full stop. after careful consideration.

60 x 6.3 = 378
:s i confused where u gettin $420 from
65 x 6.3 = 410

like i said IF i buy a 60USD game online is not more than d normal price down here i payin for it, i did it with kz2, u2, blazblue, infamous havent paid higher than standard price down here wen it came down an i did the math

bought gow collection online too cuz i had a feeling stores down here wud try an rob yuh an charge full price wen in fact d game is 36US

same ting i gonna do with SSF4 (if i buy) cuz i know men down here gonna charge full price for that

(just to make a fair comparison) How much did you pay for amazon prime to get that "free shipping"?

also, I dunno if you've got females in your house...but if you do....attaching a cable box to your "TV" could mean trouble, lol

amazon prime is worth it if u like me an buy alot of stuff online saves me in the long run by goin with prime and i hate to wait so ++ (patience is not my strong point lol)
i wud order sumting monday an hav it in my house by friday

lol wam if i connect cable to d tv?
PS nope, no females in d house if by that u mean living with me lol

PS nope, no females in d house if by that u mean living with me lol

lucky man, you get to game uninterrupted. lol

As for the Amazon Prime, it costs US$79.00 ANNUALLY.

That's a lot for shipping. Easily the price of two good games.

I'm low on patience too and definitely see the "value" in 2 day shipping (use the prime service myself) but highlighting the cost to aid Larutus's arguments....you can't say your games are coming in with free shipping when you're actually paying US$79.00 annually.

Be fair to the local suppliers. They aren't "robbing" us by charging fair market value on games.
