The problem, most TVs tend to only offer 1024x768 over the VGA 15 pin D-sub despite doing 1080p on component and hdmi.

Been searching and catchin my @ss for one that supports full HD over VGA.

Found a 46" Sammy that does it but can't find a 42" LCD that does.

I'm certain they are out there.

Anyone with better google-fu care to assist?

Here is the 46" that does the trick: Samsung UN46B7000

A snippet from the review that highlights the feature we need.

PC: As expected, the UNB7000 series delivered excellent performance with both VGA and HDMI sources from computers. It resolved every line of a 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution image with no overscan or edge enhancement.

Appreciated

i wouldnt even think that possible. sounds counter intuitive
if vga has that kind of headroom then why the hell not use it instead of dvi and hdmi

Exactly what I was thinking.

NGW, explain why it MUST be VGA, and not DVI/HDMI.

We have about four laptops around the office, in network cabinets, they are connected to a "network" of existing 42" LCDs using media streamers.

These streamers use VGA as an output to the screens and RJ45 for the inter-networking.

Hope this helps.

Found a couple thanks to CNET
