The victim ate the soup and when she discovered [the act], she was frantic [and taken] to an outside hospital for tests.”The documents say the incident had potential for “serious harm” and that police investigated and recommended aggravated-assault charges.Abbotsford RCMP Const. Ian MacDonald said an investigation began March 30 at the Matsqui Institution. Charges have not been sworn.Following the incident, Whonnock’s parole was revoked because of “unmanageable risk.”“You continue to put yourself ahead of the safety of others,” the documents say. “You continue to have a casual attitude toward your medical condition, [which is] highly infectious.”On Aug. 12, Whonnock received statutory release after serving two-thirds of a 2-1/2-year aggravated-sexual-assault sentence.Parole documents describe the circumstances of Whonnock’s crime, in which a former john who became her partner was “knowingly” infected with “an incurable disease.”The businessman, whose name is subject to a court publication ban, said he could not pay for sex anymore and apparently asked Whonnock to enter a relationship in early 2006 — but asked her to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases before they had unprotected sex.“He said he would help you to get off drugs and live a pro-social life,” the documents say. “You lied to him knowing that you had a deadly and incurable virus, and told him you were negative.”During the same period, Whonnock admitted to exposing two johns to HIV. She was charged July 25, 2006.The documents say that after becoming infected, her partner dropped about 86 pounds, suffers illnesses and “lost his employees, his business and his enjoyment of life.”Whonnock, diagnosed with HIV in 2000, was released on bail in August 2006. In September 2007, bail was revoked when she agreed to participate in unprotected sex with undercover Vancouver police officers.Her statutory-release conditions include drug treatment, psychological counselling and an order not to venture near the Downtown Eastside. Authorities will not say where she was placed.
