For the life of me, I don't know why there's absolutely no hype for this game on GATT. I won't be suprised if this

becomes Game of the Year (Might have competition from Red Dead Redemption).

no errors playing but i got some odd registry errors after installing it. couldnt access any program for a good while.

a restart solved it though. already troubleshooted and nothing else was installed so i believe the demo was the culprit.

I started the demo this morning, it looking real real good. I like the Mafia stylling, gameplay is great! nice cover system. Graphics are BETTER than GTA, not leaps and bounds better but significantly so. The one car I drove was reall unweildy, very hard to keep on the road. I think I might buy this one, get the original game free. Never played the first one, could amuse me while I wait for the 2nd to drop.

the first mafia was hands down one of the best pc games I have ever played. Ever. I would even rate this in my top 3.

I remember the starting taking awhile to get into but when the story picked up it never let up. Could only hope this sequel lives up to the name.

also here is a fix if u want to explore without a time limit

Did you guys see the ridiculously high recommended specs for this game?
Its basically one big Nvidia ad.  There's supposed to be a 'High APEX' setting that actually requires a GTX285 (for Physx) and a GTX470 as the MINIMUM!!!

Ridiculous.

They could keep that.  Basically a GTA clone in gangster seasoning.

Arc, I played the demo, runs at a smooth 60fps at all times, our systems are essentially the same. If you worried about the full game and how it will run, there's always the extended trial available on the innanets.

mafia and Gta are two totally different games. one is mission based (GTA) the other is totally story driven.

its like comparing a bottle of Petrus French wine (one of the most expensive wines in France) to Solo apple J. both look the same on the outside, but when u taste it, well its a totally different experience.

Re: Mafia II

...but isn't the core gameplay of every GTA game from part III onwards, heavily
story driven?  The story is advanced through the missions themselves, as I am sure
this game does as well, so what's your point?

When I make that comparison, do not misconstrue that as an admonishment of the game itself eh.  Regardless of how good the story is, at its core, the game is a GTA clone...whether you would like to admit it or not is up to you.  I've had enough of those.

I didn't appreciate it either when Dead Space was referred to as a Resident Evil clone, but at its core, it kinda is, in a lot of ways.  What differed was the story, and the presentation.  Same thing here.

My gaming time already limited as is.

Pass.

I think u mean a sandbox experience, while their is driving around and different missions to do in Gta, Mafia is just a straight overarching story, where u need to drive to continue the story. (Mafia 2 may be different though)

no missions to choose just a straight mafia story. totally story driven.

Trust me it looks the same but its very very different.

either way it better be awesome. Mafia 1 was light years better than all the gta games combined.

Just about every game out today is a 'clone' of some past game? So just because somebody comes up with an idea first,

that means that every title that has similar elements is a rip-off of it? I never understood that. So every shooter in the

past 10 years is a rip-off of Doom? I guess HAWX is an Afterburner clone, right? I just think it's dumb. GTA did it first but

that doesn't mean every game after it is an imitation. Arc hoss, ah hadda question your taste in games these days. First

you hate on Starcraft II and now this? Come on  . As I said before, Mafia 1 is one of my all time favorite PC games up there

with the original STARCRAFT and Half-Life. Your loss bro. Your missing out big time. :P
