How lovely, T&T continues to be on the watch list for places NOT to visit due to the current and ongoing, seemingly endless crime wave that is just devastating to the citizens but also tourists that visit and spend money there...when will the nonsense STOP. This is ridiculous!  :protest:

I am almost willing to bet that it's a TRINI in tobago that commited the crime. Tobagonians aren't usually bad ppl (compared to trinis) and it's the influence of the rogue element in Trinidad spilling over into TObago AND even the rest of our caribbean neighbours. I remember going grenada and guys there telling me that the police recently stopped a crime ring that was led by trinis.... that is NOT the kind of thing you want to hear when you visit another caribbean island.... GOD! and what are our leaders doing about it? well supposedly all they can, but when will they REALLY do what it takes? when tobago has no revenue? when Carnival is completely tainted by innumerous violent crimes? what will it take?

Hmm I was told Barbados does not publish much of their crime in the local media for fear of harming their tourist industry, in Trinidad the major headlines point to crimes such as murders and rapes. Just an observation.

I was trying to directly compare Barbados' crimes stats with ours but did not find too much, do not know how reliable the info is on the nationmaster site though the "interesting facts - crime" section are interesting hehe.....lol at "Venezuela is one of the happiest and most murderous places in the world."
I wonder if Chavez had anything to do with that :p

    * Two-thirds of the world's kidnappings occur in Colombia.

    * People trust Swedes! Swedish companies are the world’s least-likely to be perceived as paying bribes.
    * 84% of people in Finland feel that they are at a low risk of experiencing a burglary - but just look at how many burglaries they have!

i wanna see the article you get the facts quoted from please

if you just take the numbers into consideration.. Trinidad have like a million+ ppl, Barbados has like what, 300k...just by probability living in Trinidad you have a higher chance to run into a bandit.
