If predictions are right, AMD will announce their new generation of cards at the end of August into early September with availability coming around Win7 release date (Oct 22nd), it might make sense to hold off a bit. At the very least, current gen will get even cheaper to make way for the newer stuff, or you might see something new that you like.

Then again, that's a couple long months away. Just a heads up.

well I got my 4870 for $1200 so it was too sweet a deal to pass up.

If those new cards are worth the salt, might consider upgrading in october/november. Though the current rig runs every game with no issues.
