D9 gets 9.5/10 from me. It's different from your usual Sci-Fi, which makes it refreshing.
It's amazing what a first time director did with only 30m; just imagine what he would do with a Transformers size budget.

P.S. Alien weaponry ROCKS...I mean you will be like this --> 0_0

Yeah I enjoyed this movie as well, I liked that it was not set in the usual places like New York.

EDIT: Saw it and it was sweet, can't say the last time I watched a movie and actually didn't know what was going to happen.

Hope there's a part two, truly a refreshing movie especially in terms of the angle it took.

Saw it last night...

OMG!!! I was like "oh no!!!" and "wow" at all of the alien's tech.

Gotta love the gravity gun and "pig to chest"

I kept thinking Gordon Freeman all the way through. Was waiting for him to pick up a crobar to give an official nod. lol

the green alien's son was my fav character though, loved the little guy.

OMG!!!  I JUST finished watching this movie.  Good GOD!!!  0_0

Epic doesn't even BEGIN to describe this.  Hats off to Peter Jackson and crew.
Have we seen the 1st part of a grand over-arching story with several more parts to come?

I can now understand the comments of 'not your average Sci-Fi'.  This movie turned all
the conventional human/alien moviemaking formulas on their collective a$$es.

...AND HOW BADA$$ WAS THAT MECH!!!  I swear I woke SOMEbody up when 'small-man'
activated everything by remote.  Yes, I screamed that loud...and I screamed even LOUDER
when Vickus fired the missile swarm.

Y'all said 9 out of 10?  Sheeit...I not even bothering to rate this movie.  Its certainly the BEST I've seen for 2009.

I'm really in awe of this movie.  If it never gets a sequel, I wont mind, I'll just watch this over and over again
till I'm old and gray.
