PC Speed
« on: August 02, 2009, 03:38:17 PM »
Hey guys. I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ with a NVIDIA GeForce 7025 and 1GB of RAM.

Shouldn't it be able to run big Games like Unreal Tournament 3, Call of Duty 4 or even Warcraft and stuff, then why is it running glitchy, is it my onboard video?

most like your onboard video. plus if you're running Vista, then 1 GB ram will not cut it. why not buy a dedicated GPU and double up on ram? it will make a world of difference. oh, and your post is in the right section btw. you should have posted it here......http://www.carigamers.com/cms/forums/index.php/board,13.0.html

everything the previous posters have said is correct as right

i would recommend nothing less than a 8600gt/HD4670 for the avg joe gamer, and i would go 4GB on the ram just because ram cheap as fk these days.

crixx asked for details, that would help tremendously, especially the mobo, if it has a pci-e x16 slot then i would definitely recommend a discrete card and moar ramz if the slots permit it

Hmm looking to upgrade a lil dual core machine I threw together for a relative last year. It currently has integrated video which is definitely not doing games like CS and Halflife justice. What graphics card would you recommend for under $100 US? Looking for something with low power requirements cuz their PSU isn't that big, 450 watt or so.

*hmm answered my own question thanks to W1ntry's best graphics cards money can buy post hehe.....
