just hope GSP never tests positive.

Truthfully I don't care that he juiced, I'm sure alot of fighters do. But Barnett has been caught once, you'd think this fool would know by now the time it takes for it to cycle out of his system.
Now he's f***ed the biggest HW fight of the year and Fedor will most likely end up fighting Vitor Belfort as a replacement. I was really hoping the Barnett fight would end all the naysayers who dispute Fedor's p4p status but beating a middleweight won't help anything (more like hurt it).

What do you think of GSP as the best pound for pound fighter in the world?

Well the Affliction event was canceled, then Affliction themselves folded as a promotion. Unfortunate given that they put on such quality cards.
As for GSP I think he's a solid #2. While I agree that GSP has been the guy fighting the most consistently hard fights I don't think he's in Fedor's league. I think it's arguable either way but GSP has shown vulnerabilities in the form of his suspect chin whereas Fedor has none. Other than Fujita and arguably Arona Fedor has never even looked in danger.
Furthermore Fedor is simply I would say more dominating over his opponents. While GSP definitely gave Fitch and Alves no chance they were still essentially ground out decisions whereas Fedor either finishes or turns his opponent into ground beef in a decision war.
I think GSP needs to move up and have some MW fights now and let the WW contenders duke it out and improve a bit. We'll see then how much of GSP's dominance is simply him being able to control guys in a certain weight bracket. Fedor has been fighting heavier guys (sometimes MUCH heavier) for his entire career.
But like I said, it could go either way.

Nah, Fedor takes that title.
The medium and heavy weights i would still rate Fedor as best fighter.
Light weight is such a crazy division, I love faber and Aoki but their are just so many good light weights, crazy fights.

I like the new Tito. He looks meaner than before.
Good point about suspect chin on GSP. That fight with matt serra cast some serious doubt on his ability to take a solid punch to the jaw. His legs were all over the place.
Not to say that any good ufc fighter can't lose his composure after a square shot. (matt hughs vs gsp comes to mind)
Would love to see GSP move up a weight class. Nothing left for him in welter.
Going to have to watch some more fedor matches to really appreciate him as the best pound for pound. Haven't seen enough of the guy in battle. Over indulged in UFC.

The thing with Serra was more too that Serra is essentially an overweight LW and really isn't known as a knockout artist type guy. If Alves tagged GSP it would be another story.
If you want to see the fight where Fedor got rocked bad check out him versus Fujita. Of course the Randleman fight is where he got suplexed on his head and didn't seem to notice. Check out his fight against Zulu for the origin of the phrase"he got Zulued". The Cro Cop fight is a classic and his fights with Big Nog can give you a good idea why Nog looks and sounds like he tried to fight a grizzly.

people believe fedor is a robot
i believe nogs brain is in his knee cap or something of the sort
because that last fight against fedor... i dont know how he is alive, seriously... i thought Fedor was upset about someone kicking his puppy and was taking it out on Nogs head.. its unbelievable, the way Fedor hits and the fact that Nog took those shots.
When randleman drop fedor on his head i thought WOW, that was a beautiful use of grappling surely Fedor is finally phazed.. wait .. no.. is that.. yup kimura fight done, Fedor wins.
That Fujita shot was like... zomg! he hurt Fedor !! (think rock lee hurting Gaara for first time in his life) and then fedor opens about 20 gates and yea... fight done lol.
When arlovski hit Fedor that jump kick to chest and Fedor Stumbled i went GASP!!
then Fedor did that cat punch thing he does... arlovski was unconscious in mid air, fell like a sack of rocks.
Lol @ his fight against choi hung or whatever his name is, his first mistake was that he disrespected Fedor and didnt wanna show respect at start of match... yea... ownt
People think a lucky shot can win matches, well against Fedor... i think a lucky shot triggers his secondary bionic programming and ends the match quicker..
Every time he has been hurt or put in a very comprimising situation.. he ends the match very very quickly afterwards.
He seems to dislike bjj fighters that spend alot of time clinching on the floor, when they do that, its almost like he goes ah good i get to hurt them for no good reason now and punches them in their joints in their abs, kicks them behind the legs he will hit you everrryyywhere except the head just to make you realise, if you stay on the ground defending, your going to leave that fight needing medical attention.

Well the dream is dead, Fedor will definitely not be coming to the UFC. UFC made him a mammoth offer: 6 fights , 30 million, can compete in sambo, can wear as much M1 Global gear as we wants, M1 Global gets a cut of the Lesnar/Fedor PPV in September on top of the cut Fedor gets but Fedor's management at M1 Global still demand co-promotion and UFC isn't going there.
Frankly I can't fault UFC anymore, that is an insane contract and I can't expect them to do better than that. I certainly don't expect them to be dumb enough to agree to co-promote with M1 just for Fedor.

hahahhaha @ that gif.
and dana's goofy smile just add to the humour
Well if M1 is being such hognorant bastards about fedor going over, what about the inverse situation.
Brok taking a match outside of the UFC and squaring off with fedor on his home turf.
Not something dana would naturally allow but minotauro did fight in affliction so it's not unprecedented.
Had to share this picture of GSP doing what he does best, pwning.

No, Minotauro did not fight in Affliction. The thinking you're thinking about is Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira who is a heavyweight in the UFC and also one of the greatest MMA fighters ever. The guy who fought in affliction is Antonio Rogerio Nogueira who is a top ten light heavyweight and also the other Nog's twin brother. The HW is 'Big Nog' and the LHW is 'Lil Nog'.
And Brock can't fight outside UFC, Dana won't let him and frankly his payday would be peanuts compared to what he makes in the UFC as no promotion can offer the money UFC can. And even if another did they'd go bust on the show. I'm not even close to kidding. UFC100 did 1.6 million PPV. Affliction's shows did not cross 100k.
The dream is dead. Fedor has a market right now that is essentially Josh Barnett, Allistair Overeem, Brett Rogers, Jeff Monson and Fabricio Werdum. Barnett is forever tainted and while some of those fights would be interesting, particularly Overeem, they aren't as exciting as Lesnar, Mir or Carwin.

yeah, those names a bit confusing but either way, a ufc fighter fought in affliction.
so you're saying m1 is too ignorant to let fedor fight in the ufc and ufc is too ignorant to let Lesnar fight in M1
maybe lightning will strike twice and we'll see another exception being made in the future.

No bro, a contracted UFC fighter did NOT fight in Affliction. Big Nog is the brother who's under contract to UFC, and he's never fought in Affliction. Lil Nog fought in Affliction, he's NOT under contract to the UFC (and never was).
It's not a matter of ignorant, because at the end of the day it's about business. UFC had nothing to gain by letting M1 co-promote and again has nothing to gain by letting their biggest draw fight on an M1 card. It's easy for M1 to claim they're doing it 'for the fans' when they only want to take and not give but this is a business and Dana is not an idiot.

Dana said any ex fighter who fought in affliction would not be allowed back into the UFC but made an exception for noguiera. That's what I meant by ufc fighter.
still, such a shame that exclusivity is keeping fedor and lesnar from squaring off.
I'll still hope for a miracle.
just real laughed at this man description of fedor (on looking out of shape), so spot on.
Yeah. He's a $%# bear man, his life is training. It's all he does, he's just as fast as anyone and has unrivaled endurance, somehow he lucked out and is able to maintain a layer of protective fat as well. He's also probably the most dedicated and well-trained fighter in the world.
layer of protective fat yes.
Real shame about affliction too...Atencio seems to be a real fan of the sport, not just a business man milking the sport. The man entered the ring and gave a good account of himself. Hats off

No you've still got it wrong. Dana never said that ex-Affliction fighters could not come to the UFC. He said that any fighter signed with EA for their upcoming MMA game was barred from the UFC with an exception made for Randy Couture.
Antonio Rodrigo, Big Nog, came to the UFC straight from PRIDE.
Antonio Rogerio, Lil Nog still is not signed to a UFC contract and fights with various organizations.
Dana has in fact signed several ex-Affliction fighters, Vitor Belfort is headlining UFC103 against Rich Franklin actually. He's also signed ex-Affliction fighters Paul Daley, Dan Lauzon, Rafaello Oliveira Ben Rothwell and Chase Gormley to UFC.
Atencio is a good guy, unfortunately he really doesn't have the business savvy to run a fight promotion. Affliction made several critical errors. Nonetheless there's no denying that the man put on two fantastic cards.

Eh, I've got too much time on my hands lol.
Does anyone watch The Ultimate Fighter? Season 10 is starting this September, looks like it might be the best since S5. I'm calling Roy Nelson to go all the way.
