I can see a man like you going for the dancing queen version, lol

On a serious note, probably included for the non hard core female gamers.

Wow. That match was boring to watch.
Walk forward, walk forward, PUNCH. Rinse, repeat.

And what, pray tell, took the Zangief player so damn long to realise that D+FP in mid-air counters most AA attacks?

Don't worry, soon we will be able to school 'em over the internet. They'll know what to prepare for in 2010. That level of skill won't fly against us.

I didn't realize it was supposed to entertain. That's how the balrog vs gief matchup works, zone zone zone.

Yeah. Though I'm no expert with Gief, I would have expected more [EX] Banishing Flats and Lariats to keep 'Rog honest. He gave him way too much room to work with there. Gief is supposed to have the advantage in this match.

BTW, with the possible exception of Wong vs. Daigo, all Rog matches are boring. So are most (all?) matches with Sagat, Blanka, Chun-li, Bison ( :crybaby2:), Honda. At last half the cast actually.

lol,

It's in Guadeloupe. The original plan was to send the winners of Giga to China. Later they renegged on the China trip citing economic recession and other reasons.

Trinidad is always invited. We declined to send candidates. It is very expensive to go to Guadeloupe. The prizes were decent but it would have made more sense to just give a local gamer the Ticket fare as a prize, lol.

Still, next year, if the coffers are full, we will send gamers just for the prestige and experience. It is a great event, very well put together. When we went in 2005, placed 1st and 3rd in Tekken. [X]-BryanMaster and [X]-DrylRage idmc.

On a serious as far as fighting games go in the caribbean, Puerto Rico is king. Their scene while small is really really good. Multiple top 8 finishes @ EVO including a 2nd Place in Tekken a year ago and a top 8 finish this year in SFIV .

If any of the notable names from PR had gone to GG2K9 they would have surely taken it. Trinidad has alot of work to do to catch up. Pretty hard to gauge everywhere else. Andrew from Jamaica is good, haven't heard from Gary since VXG, the other small isles seemed substandard. A couple of our guys are good as well. There needs to be a true regional someday, when that happens we in for a rude awakening.

Well Giga is not just about Street Fighter. They normally pay for their winners to represent the region in the Electronic Sports World Cup for Pro Evolution Soccer.

Earned a second place there in Pro Evolution Soccer (their flagship game on the island). World ranked. No small achievement.

Not very popular in Trinidad since we are a Fifa country.

ESWC has made their requirement for being an affiliate very burdensome, so the switch to WCG was made but even that was expensive. Recession iwmc.

Hopefully for 2010, money won't be a problem.

Correction.  All SF4 matches are boring.

Rog vs Gief is pretty even if not Rog's advantage slightly.  The mindgame and patience is what will win gief this match.
Regardless, the game still sucks ass.
