I just watched it with the family and it not half as bad as its been made out to be in this thread imo.

I'd give it a 7.

The effects and creatures were spot on. The acting was meh but given the source material, wasn't expecting much in that department.

They brought the world of the last air bender to real life. A testament to modern technology and an achievement in of itself. Appa, momo, the myriad bending effects, all faithfully recreated.

lol, well it's not a 1:1 replica obviously.

Aang on the whole was a lot more generous and liberal in his baguazhang than in the series.

Given that they distilled an entire season into one movie, I think it was a decent effort.

Personally, had hoped for a more serious and self aware avatar and he was definitely that in this version.

On another note, my only complaint about the series, was that aang often acted as though the fate of the world did not sit on his shoulders. Granted he was just a kid....but you'd think the avatar would take his role a bit more seriously.

The big screen aang was definitely more sombre than his cartoon counterpart.

This was one of the worst things about the movie. They really overdid it here, all bending required a long dance kata.

The two other horrible areas were the acting which is probably the worst I have ever seen in a big budget movie and at times the cg looked like it was from the 90s

the avatar CG never looked bad to me. Unlike GI Joe, there were times when that looked like something I could render on a Geforce 2.

agreed, the acting was atrocious but I didn't have any expectations in that department to begin with.

Maybe a better approach would have been to focus on one or two episodes, instead of trying to do the entire book one.

waays that was an epic low blow...lol better hope reaper don't see that. ....and the visuals in G.I. Joe wasn't all that bad. I'll admit though that the last airbender's visual effects were really amazing. But I still waiting to see Tron Legacy's visuals
