For all laptop/netbook owners:

I came across a software called BatteryBar, which is a small utility that displays the battery life left on your laptop, it is far more accurate than the windows estimate, and may be one of the most accurate battery meters out there.

http://osirisdevelopment.com/BatteryBar/

The deal is that they are offering a lifetime license to upgrade to BatteryBar Pro for any price form US$1 to US$10 of YOUR choosing. I bought 2 licensees at US$2 each.

The added features with the Pro:
Automatic upgrade notification popup for the latest beta release
Show low and critical battery notification warnings
View graph of your battery profiles
Change the current Windows power scheme
Automatically change power schemes when on battery or external power
Customize the look of BatteryBar with custom themes
Customize when the battery is reported as at low or critical level
Show low and critical battery warnings based on time remaining or percent remaining

The free version is damn good as it is, but for a minimum of US$1 for a lifetime pro license, why not?

Hurry, this offer doesn't last....
God is dead.

Trouble is, those Seagate 1.5tb drive have PROBLEMS with crashing etc. The Samsung drives are much safer. I have 5 external drives, all with Samsung eco green disks, the newest more than 6 months old, never had a problem yet. They are only 7200rpm but I dont think the increased speed is worth the risk.

My 2c of course. Its yall money.

Well, I'm seeing a greater number of positive reviews than negative.

Didn't Seagate address the issues with a firmware update?

25% 1 eggs is a serious thing. Just watch that first page which are the newest reviews. Cant be that it fixed much.

Im not saying newegg is the holy grail of reviews, but they give a damn good idea of what products have the least issues. I use it to help make every purchase decision.

Check...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150014%20103530090%201035324341&bop=And&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Order=RATING&PageSize=20

Look at where Seagate is on that list. I have three of those exact Sammy eco drives and knock on wood, no problems.

The Seagate might have a good price today but I think it is not trustworthy.

And who Amazon feel they fooling. They expect me to believe that a 1.5tb drive was retailing for $200us when a 2tb drive of the same calibur is selling right now for $120us.

Come on Amazon. Puhleeeze.

Strange you been having issues with Seagate, Awesome.

I bought this exact drive December last. Been using it in an external enclosure without a single issue.

I never bought the Seagate, just read the reviews and got scared.

Realise that its a luck of the draw kind of thing with them. If you had bought three, I wonder how many would still be working today.

Personally, I would stay the hell away from them, but thats  me.

@ Hard, that drive did NOT sell for that much in recent times, maybe when it first came out but not recently.

Well is a good thing I only give these people a 1 US.  This app has not worked since I installed it.

I keep getting a 'unable to load stored data' message when trying to start it.
For such a 'simple' app to be giving all that trouble, it aint even worth it as 'free'.

I not wasting time troubleshooting that.  Rightmark has a nice, free utility with a very accurate battery meter in it.  I'll go back to that.

FAIL.
