Smart design.  I like it.  Be a shame if you were to drop it though.

Hmm digital download only. I see them targeting an even more niche market than before. So now I have to wait for game to download before I play it? Not sure I like this concept for a handheld.

Digital distribution is the way most of these big content providind companies are going.
Who knows, it might actually lower the costs overall for new PSP games.

I may only get one of these when the hackers have had their way with it though. :)

Beats waiting for a store to get it or ordering it down :P
I'm usually a lover for game boxes to add to my library but since psn and steam I'm slowly realizing that I just taking up space... You still playing the same game and it's not like I does read the manual lol.

It's a good move, but I still wait to see how they'll follow through with it. PSN store needs to get more content on there (UMD classics, PSN originals, PSOne stuff) for the system to really make sense. Imagine, right now, you still can't get God-of-War for download on PSN (and that's a first-party, flagship title for the system).

Also, just noticing this, but 16GB internal storage? If the system ends up being ~$100, that makes it, what, $20 more than a 16GB memory stick? If so, really good deal there.

Buggy as hell.

Hmm... but considering the current generation of PSP's still retail for prices like upwards of US$150.00, how likely do you think that might be though?

I pretty sure it would be around $200, $199.99 has been the standard price for any psp iteration.
And Sony will pack in some downloadable games, like a Patapon 2 voucher or something.

@ Pikachuman, surely if they releasing hardware like this, all new psp games will be available on the store for download, and Sony hard at work churning out ps1 classics and bringing the back catalogue of psp games to psstore (killzone, socom etc..).

I realllly hope this new psp supports the friends list etc though, that'd be neat  :awesome:.

I'm not against digital distribution, I'm totally for it. What I don't like is making it digital distribution only for a handheld device.

One change I'd have preferred is a second analog controller.

Well its just not only a handheld device.. its a gaming platform..a console. So it makes sense.
+ being a portable system its only logical to be able to store games as it loses portability when you need to travel with umd's as well.
Anyway its bacause of alot of people not wanting it digital only, that they are still gonna sell psp 3000's.. The "Go" is just for digital download and basically is the 3000 with bluetooth and a built in 16gb memory stick. And as I said earlier, Sony really pushing this digital download thing on consoles so an occurance like this is inevitable.

And yea second analog stick wud have been great..but they saving that for psp2 :(

I swear to god you can work for Sony's press machine.
What can you do to end the hunger?
It's no surprise that many will die with the coming shortage of food
When there is no grain to feed the butchered cows
When there is nothing to feed yourselves...
Then you will see that money can't be eaten.

well laertes, i agree with the point that sliding device may not last as long as static devices but i believe that is based on how u treat the the device an, obviously, who an how it manufactured. My judgement is based on my experience with my n95, which i have had for a year an some months now an the sliding device work perfectly. And this is after a fair amount of beating (and constant sliding wen im bored  :happy0203:). it has even fallen and bounced from a 1st floor to the ground floor an gives no trouble.

So i thing, most importantly, its how u treat the psp go that would determine the life span of the device. (this is assuming sony knows how to make a good sliding mechanism)
