Hello dear gatters. For the past few days little by little I have been trying to set up a proxy server at home using some 3rd party software that will not be mentioned. NEWAY... I got it working tonight by turning on the DHCP function.... so it seemed. What the DHCP fixed though was gateway setting. I tried setting the gateway but it didn't work. What I apparently was supposed to do was restart the machine after I set the gateway. I'm running w2k and I thought that IP settings take effect right after you set them after Win Me. Or so said Microsoft.... Neway this is just a lil note from me to you.... If you decide to set up a proxy and not use DHCP remember to restart your PC after setting the gateway... Not sure how many of you will care at all but thas my piece.
