A TOTAL of 14 teams will compete at this year’s “Friends of the Victory Foundation Games” scheduled for May 17 at the St James Barracks, Long Circular Road.
And the winning team will receive a whopping $25, 000 which will be given to a charity of their choice.
The teams will consist of celebrities from recognized institutions such as Tribe Carnival Band, Radio 96.1FM, 97.7FM, Synergy Television, Gayelle and the Advertising Agencies among many others.
Chairman of the Victory Foundation Brendon Braithwaite said the programme is aimed at encouraging participation and commitment to the society through sports.
Ronald Victor- a representative from the Victory Foundation Games said the idea emerged from the constant liaison of friends on the Triniscene website.
“We have decided to extend this further and do something that will be really worthwhile to the nation. We have decided that helping people who are in need of help will be the best way for us to do this,” Victor added.
The teams will compete in 10 novelty events that are being held as surprises. At the launch at Delhai Street, Long Circular Road St James on Tuesday night, each team representative was given a replica tool which indicated that teams are to execute a construction project that will require interaction among the members.
