sheltech is 525

oh an arc my padna show me exactly wat to look for wen u dloadin games from d net on ur 360 so it wont brick.

besides why shud i spend money buying original games on a faulty console anyway?

even the new jaspers STILL gettin RRoD and this next error (4get d name think is e74) plus the disc scratching problem ah mean come on. an i must buy original games an pray to god that either d game aint scratch or meh 360 frig up i good friend, build a reliable machine an i hav no problem buyin original games.

besides d 360 not gonna b my main console anyway cuz its got nothing that interests me besides Halo, Gears, L4D, maybe Mass Effect and maybe fable (more a JRPG person). wud say splinter cell eh but that game i look at is not splinter cell, sam running an gunning now wtf

you can get l4d, mass effect, fable and tons more on the PC.

Other than halo 3 and gears 2, what is the compelling reason to get an xbox 360 (multiplayer wise?)

yeah, the failure rate on the 360 is off the scale.

red ring of death-prone console has a 54.2 percent failure rate, compared to 10.6 percent for the PS3 and the Wii's 6.8 percent.

JK been saying that aeons now, hence the reason I went Wii first, then PS3 and 360 last. (whenever I have spare change)

hmm it's that same issue that's stopping me from buying a 360. But everytime i look at getting a console, i'm just convinced to stick to pc.

but that fat princess game surely look like fun, i have to find some arcade/friend to try that out.

I see where this thread MAY be heading. I hope people keep it at an informative level.

As for PC gaming, I think its great but a preference. And its always good to have a preference. Personally I cant game on PC if I dont have the absolute best zomg full graphics settings running 1900x1200. I know for certain, people dont mind having "decent" graphics running just fine on their rig, again preference.

Personally for consoles I just prefer the community. LIVE is just so active all the time with FPS to fighters to..whatever. I go on Burnout its FULL of people, HALO...way..people, Gears...TONS...even on Fable 2 you can just go into a chat room and hear men talking bout stuff they got, see them moving around in your world ingame as little avatars and so forth.

Not to say you cannot do this on a PC atall. But for me I need everything. Nothing wrong with preference which was my original point.

For the past few months i was ONLY gaming on PC, big into my WoW gaming. Friday night on a WoW server is like you step into a "gamer" Zen club and talk just flying...from Obama, to some new song, to what people seeing on TV, to a new 360 game that come out...to all kinda thing.

On the other hand, Friday night on 360..LEVEL gaming with Trinis. I log in and see 5 rooms FULL of Trini's playing Gears to HALO to WaW to Street Fighter....you dive in a chat room

"Aye fellas was up"
"nun sweating some Gears"
"I comming in"
"come na...we go cut yuh @ss"
"Aight......"

3 hours later

"Aye lewee play some Halo na?"
"Yea yea..hol on KFC reach"
"Yea yea yea Slayer lewee go"

and so we goin. I enjoy that all the time. To me that is where the experience is, the lime, the sweat and just good fun.

nice thing with 360 is u hav different choices of games wen it comes to sweat, not so on PSN. if u want sweat on PSN u only got 1 choice.

lol @ speak of heaven.

its interesting to hear that the 360 scene so lively despite the failure rate and the subscription fee for online play.

I know people who went through four 360 units and yet they still continue to replace the console, despite the bad experience. lol

Microsoft must be on to something. Lacing cocaine in those boxes.

By christmas I'll see what all the fuss is about first hand. My preference is to have 'em all. God willing. 1920x1200 gaming PC, Wii, PS3 and 360.

Only the 360 missing, so soon is gow2 and halo 3 immc.

suhuweat!!!!!!!

but blue_vice, lets not give up on the PS3 and it's free multiplayer network just yet. Yes they suck compared to live. Yes, their community features need serious work.

However Sony and their gaming platform has been good to us over the decade so I'll pony up the $$ for Fat Princess month end and increase the # from 14 to 15. lol

Then see if we can double the playstation 3 community by the end of the year (got a few tricks up my sleeve that are in progress)

deal?

nice thing with 360 is u hav different choices of games wen it comes to sweat, not so on PSN. if u want sweat on PSN u only got 1 choice.

1 choice?... and what would that 1 game be?  call of duty?...  cuz i know there are quite a few ppl that will play SF4 but cause no one care to try and make the matches u'll never end up playing....

still tho when they are talking about xbox live the main reason all of that is possible cause xbox has "party chat" which works cross games as well... also the friend list on xbox live makes much more sense as it shows the game the person is playing, who they are currently playing with and if there is space for you to join in... on PSN its all guess work, most times when u message someone if there in the middle of a fire fight, u'd have to wait till they reach back in the lobby before they send u a *TEXT* reply, on XBL they can hit the guide button and switch voice chat between "Party, Game, Private" voice chat which speeds up the process...  Personally i don't really think the ps3 has the capability for cross game chat with such limited memory (tho i hope i'm wrong) but the system really wasn't designed with that in mind...

only way i see PSN for trini's to become better is if we plan in a thread from early what games we all agree on getting, that way we will know up front who to send the invites to... i'm really hoping for uncharted 2 and modern warfare 2

...and this is why (I've said it before, and I'm saying it again) Sony's PSN boffins
need to admit to themselves that their model is somehwhat lacking, and that the XBL
model is the way to go.  If it means a redesign of the dashboard, and a pay-for online
service, then so be it.  It will make PSN a WHOLE LOT more accessible.

I know some may not appreciate that view, but XBL is the 'cocaine' (LOL) that keeps people
coming back, even after their console has failed four times.  That survey Blu_Vice quoted
said that only THREE PERCENT of the people whose Xbox failed said that they would never
buy another one again.  That alone should tell you something.

Its very simple actually. Make mic chat a unsaid mandatory element to play online.

"Sorry my bluetooth need to charge..lol"
"Na boy i eh have a mic"

one man thought he take his brains out his @ss for half a minute to say
"Yea boy but i leave the mic in the car..."
/facepalm

As annoying as those things are you have to know your demographic. And its pretty simple to spot
Nothing wrong with the PS3 ATALL. The system is fantastic and solid.

However SONY began their marketing scheme as a system that could play Blueray and THEN play games, movies first, games next. Although that is nice and all, when someone thinks PS3 they usually buy it to play their games (until the price drop from 600)

Now look at your demographic (and im being quite frank and blunt here *sorry george on vacation /stalejoke*)
The PS3 has dropped in price, people are buying the system to play online for free. You may also have noticed you have some people coming to the forums "looking for a PS3 and modification" - completely uninformed about the system and what can and cannot be done to it.

That free online play is an AWFUL idea. It has been with MMO's it is with this, it will always be.

Understand FIRST, we not dealing with a "trini" server setup here. From the time you tell a US company that you are PAYING for a service they damn well know people dont mind paying for it provided they get what they pay for. In other words the company is FORCED to provide the service that is expected, remember there is competition with online gaming on consoles (making it a paid process is even better for competition, raising the bar of both consoles).

Not to mention now that you are paying you have a SAY in the online service. Major Nelson on LIVE is that PRIME example. The head of XBOX LIVE has his own site dedicated ONLY to the community, their ideas and implementation, which is happening quite often on LIVE now, most recently with avatar updates, chat updating and download memory for LIVE

"NA NA I eh paying for no online thing" - says the naysayer. Welcome to 10 years later, we not ONLY playing Quake2 and SOF2 (good lord) anymore.

Gaming is expensive (if you didnt realize by now) deal with it.

Gaming is expensive (if you didnt realize by now) deal with it.

lol no kidding... and its even worse when your console dies.... my first of theses current gen systems was the xbox360 (cause i was a fan of the original xbox) i also really wanted to play "DiRT" as i'm a fan of WRC as well. then got my ps3 for heavenly sword... xbox then RROD during christmas season (this is about 4-5months after i bought it) when i got mass effect and was so pissed... had it shiped back to the US for repairs which cost around 600TT for shipping, when i got it back 4months later (i kid you not) it RROD on me in under a month... this completely waisted my gold memebership since the 360 was dead more than alive, and that was the turning point for me where i gave up on the 360 (this is before jasper units)

My ps3 i was quite happy with... for a time it lasted around 10months before it broke it was about 2weeks before MGS4 came out (i think the power supply failed and needs replacement).... at this point i had to really decide which console i would buy.... again -.-      ended up choosing the PS3 cause the xbox360 show no sign of RROD fix (still all before jasper units) .... so i picked up another ps3

some where along the lines my sister bough a wii (which i'm proud to say has not broken yet!!!) tho the wii ended up as being more of a "show piece".... so its like when ppl come over, yeah we have that system to.. but no one plays it. eventually my sister picked up xbox360 cause she likes RPG's and she realized 360 had them all (this time the jasper unit and it still works!)

at present got 25ps3 games, between my sister and me for xbox we got 19games and wii all her games is 13... all original so better dam well believe gaming aint cheap especially if the Fing console breaks on you... even tho both my xbox360 and ps3 has both died at one point and needed replacement i still believe i got a better value out of my ps3 than the xbox (i still don't trust either of them tho, its just a matter of time before 1 of them breaks again)

This is pretty much the real reason more people do not play PS3 games together it IS a hassle setting up games etc, when compared to the 360. I mean even if a man does not have a mic u could still invite him in and he can hear ur commands etc. In the current state of PSN it is very difficult just to join on someone.

You know I was an avid 360 fan but after 4 separate RROD incidents I got fedup and moved to the PS3, I thought to myself it won't be that bad, they got pretty much the same games etc. I did not heed Redlum's warnings and it's true there is just no comparison to XBL. I thought to myself I'd be saving some money as their online is FREE but as that saying goes "you get what you pay for" Doh get me wrong I find the PS3 is an amazing system with great features, it makes an excellent media center and there are some really solid titles on there. It is just that the online service is severely lacking. One thing I don't understand though, is this really a matter of limited memory on the console or is it the fact that running servers to support more services such as voice traffic would be too expensive for "free"?

All in all I do not regret the ps3 purchase however I find myself strangely being drawn back to the 360, even though I know with my luck I will be facing the RROD again with a jasper lol.....

That is completely understandable. Having no support from the gaming industry (since the Caribbean isn't even considered a demographic of the industry - No Caribbean is NOT considered Latin America in this industry) is just terrible.

Living away, my 360 craps out, i send it in, get it fixed free and sent back in a week. The PS3 broke, carried it into Best Buy at the time and got it replaced, easy.

Not having local warranty sucks on a system that dies so easily. Got damn.

Amazing to hear so many local testimonies of xbox dying like flies yet they still coming back for more. lol

Arc, xbl really is cocaine yes.

By christmas for sure. 360 imc.

Like I spoke too soon about the wii being so reliable, mine is giving trouble to read discs. Understandable because we have had it for aeons and it got a ton of playtime. Would leave the unit on for months at a time, no kidding.

Tough little bugger. Still impressed.

but yeah, that PS3 interface needs to be seriously revamped. Communication is a game in of itself and a sucky one at that. Like ET The Extra Terrestrial on Atari 2600.

The PSN developers need to sit down on Steam/xfire/xbox live for a month then go back to the drawing board and come again fresh.

http://titanstudios.com/blog/2009/08/check-it/

YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

titan studios teasing Ninja class for FP.......i REPEAT NINJA MC CLASS

EDIT:
ALSO getting Pirate class w00t
ninjas vs pirates!!!!

also lemme put this in one time
to the ppl that saying psn games hard to join up wit ppl the answer is no eh seriously.
the only games where it was a problem to join up wit ppl was warhawk and socom an socom i believe is patched ALL the rest its  not a hassle to join up wit friends allya jus lazy. is xbl easier yes but it is by NO means hard to join a friend in a game on PSN. I have ALL the major mp games on ps3 and i can tell u kz is easy (since it patch), R2 extremely, uncharted 2 same as R2, SF4 easy, LBP easy, cod easy, so seriously idk where that talk of "oh it sooooo hard to join ppl on PSN" coming from especially since it coming from d ppl who hardly play any of d games mentioned.

like i said in an earlier post different set of ppl buy ps3s dan 360s making d service a carbon copy of xbl NOT gonna suddenly make these ppl come online an start beasting, not gonna happen.
PSN ppl plain an simple not into the online thing as much as d 360 ppl.

This is pretty much the real reason more people do not play PS3 games together it IS a hassle setting up games etc, when compared to the 360. I mean even if a man does not have a mic u could still invite him in and he can hear ur commands etc. In the current state of PSN it is very difficult just to join on someone.

it is not a hassle to setup games, i setup games all the time on many every1 of the games mentioned earlier no problem for friends/clan members to join.

doh understand da mic part makes no sense cuz wen dvon mic charging he hears my commands fully and i still cud invite him in soooooooo idk wat u mean there nah

u werent around for R2 nor were u in the U2 beta and u hardly play kz so u wont know the ease of which ppl join games. listen to the games u play SOCOM and BATTLEFIELD 1943 those 2 games hav been ass on PS3 wen it comes to joining ppl so there is where ur worries lie :)

I want to put this on my "to buy" list when i head back up Saturday. I already put down Batman Arkham for PS3 (because of the joker gameplay exclusive *wanna see whats so special bout it*), Metroid Prime Trilogy and Shadow Complex. However I will buy fat princess if we have enough people playing

Again back to my original argument about "p2p" LIVE and "free" PSN. When it free, ppl dont like to pay, that and the pain in the @ss to get PSN cards :P
