Well it's worth noting that I know at least 12 individuals who have ps3s and aren't online, reason being they don't have broadband where they live and or do not know how to get online.
Remember in terms of tech... Rel people are still very noob :O

o and a casual clan IMO is one that occasionally gets together, has fun, socialises in a non-competitive way. (I.e not arguing over someone's mistake or not backing you up at a certain point in gameplay). Not taking the game too seriously.

Some of us just don't have all that time to spare again.  Gamers will always be gamers, but when things like studies, marraige, children, get
thrown into the mix, all your free time for gaming just ups and disappears.

My point?  I'm sure all those 'PSN trinis' have good reasons for not being online as much anymore.  Just cut em a lil slack.

Let's say, if 0.1% of the population has a PS3. That works out to about 1200 on the island.

If we could get a third of those online. That's 400

And say a third of those get Fat Princess. That's 133

Now were talking very conservative figures here, very doable.

Statistics are your friend.

Let us look at some more numbers.

GATT grows at an average of 30 members per month.

That's about 300 a year. We've been around for 10 years and accordingly our membership stands at 3000+.

Out of 3000 we've got 47 with PS3s online. That's 1.5%


If we double to 6000 we can expect to see the # of PS3 users go from 47 to about 94.

And the number of Fat Princess players from 14 - 28. lol

At our current rate of growth, that's another 10 years. Not very encouraging. I'll agree.

On another note, while Arc has a point, fact remains that thousands of gamers are gaming online. For every adult that has a PS3 and no time to play, there are three teenagers in a house with a PS3 and all the time in the world.

but anyway even tho yuh pull out d stats doh mean that them 30 members every month gatt growing by is ps3 gamers d majority of them are PC gamers, very very few are ps3.
ps3 online wud always b in a shitty state online in TT cuz of games and price.
ppl not gonna buy every big game out there on ps3 which cost $525 ppl watch they pockets 1st.

the truth is an xbox 360 in trinidad is the cheaper console to get even with the XBL fee simply becuz it can modify an u wud be able to get a shitload more games and get all the big ones too.

let me break out sum simple stats for u since we in maths mode
XBL - $315 (50US)
5 games @ $80 = $400
Total = $715

PSN - FREE
5 games @ $525 = $2625
Total = $2625

Difference = $1910

now u tell me which 1 make more sense to buy for a trini.

now i hav 17 Blu-ray games for my PS3 = $8925 (yea a friggin lot of dough wen u check it)

17 360 games = $1360

so u see trinis on PSN aint gonna buy alotta games hence they stick to d essentials like cod, FIFA, SF for their online play an jus grab a few big single player games an they good.

alot of trinis find LBP "gay" or a waste of time but ah cud tell yuh if da game was ah $80 burn game them same mcs wudda buy it hands down.

alot never bought warhawk (1 of the best mp games on ps3) again if it was $80 alot of trinis wud hav warhawk.

my padna specifically told me he not buyin a ps3 till it can modify, hence he bought a 360 instead and dloads ALL his games for FREE.

Wen i get mines i'll b doin the exact same thing dloadin for FREE and with my 15Mb connection it wont b too much of a problem to dload them games

If you would like to use XBL regularly, I would actually recommend against the modification, unless you can guarantee 'immunity' from all future updates.

no1 i know has gotten any problems using live as much as they want with burn games. an my friend does be online almost every night playing fifa, fight night and a lil SF

He's right arc, I have friend who has a modified 360 did the NXE update, changes his avatar frequently and plays burnt games online.

I guess it depends on how you mod it, what chip you use etc.

Still I won't take the risk.

I agree with Arcman, why risk it...you spend little money now to play all those games which will be worthless once your 360 bricked. It never pays to play cheap, especially when dealing with M$. That's why I don't understand why people try to find a way around things when in the end they end up wasting their money.
