that wont say much cause they don't have the upload to support 100MB+ so the results will obviously be less hence the reason why they have a recommended test

cause if i test my internet speed on a blink speed test it max out at 12mb down but my upload remains at 6 -7 mb

English is really a funny thing.

Maybe I should have explained myself better.

Right now you are getting close to 100Mbps on flow's servers, which is all fine and dandy but what would be interesting is to see what kind of DL speed you get on another server that is NOT flow's own.

@microone

^Flow's local servers will always give you your bandwidth.
Do some tests to multiple foreign servers ad well as show the download speed off of Microsoft/Adobe servers etc.

The issue alot of us recognized is that flow is failing with overseas connections while local speedtests paint a different picture. It'll be nice to see whether you are getting your moneys  worth with that 100mbps or if in reality you're getting speeds equivalent to or less than 25mbps overseas, because thats the point right? :)

Yeah micro, redo those tests to a Florida server.

I'd be happy with 5mb overseas but more importantly, a sub 100ms ping. That is critical for gaming.

Right now, that only happens during off peak times.

Remember, all the game servers are based overseas. I don't think there is a single game server running at flow.

If their were game servers running on the Flow network, then at least my connection could be useful during the hours of 6PM - midnight.

The problem doesn't affect all areas from the tests done so far. Some parts of the island are apparently congested and in need of attention/intervention.

time to jump in, recently get ah 50 meg home.
Did ah 2 days of testing.

Speedtest to flow giving 15meg, so striaght up something seems wrong there.
Speedtest to new york gives 4meg.

But with most connections wiht problems, (TSTT!) i found that downloading with multiple connections solves d problems. with my 2MB tstt, if i download 1 file, ill get like 150kbs or so.
If i download dat same file using getright with multiple connections to host, i get 250kbs

So i tested d flow in same method, download from a high bandwith source using multi-connections. i downloaded at 1800kbs. which equates to about 14-15MB.
And dats coming from US foreign servers.

So seems im getin the Local Speedtest speeds, abroad, once downloading with multiconnection.

Using Getright with 4 Connections from microosft should yeild similar test results. (though my source i was using 10 connections, @ 3 connection was only getin 500kbs, bumbed up to 10, and it shoot up to 1800kbs) Dis was like 8pm-10pm)

Thats actually a good point I did not consider, the multi connection download managers. Indeed they help with download speed.

The problem most of us have is ping to foreign servers which is poor. No amount of download manager could help with pings.

yea, if pings lack luster yuh screwed, my pings is about 50-60 during dem hours.
but i not too worried, becuase i have 2 internet lines going into ah load balancer.

It was 2 TSTT at first, no is d Flow and ah TSTT, so either one play up, i good.
I letting d flow go through d paces right now, den i go activate back d tstt line on d load blaancer, get another 250k on meh downloads. which go bump meh up to ah nice 2000kbs, i coudl live wiht dat.

That load balancer sounds interesting. What is that an appliance? If so, what is it?

Cool, thats an interesting piece of hardware.

I trust a device like this has a built in OS for management.

yes, Web Interface to control everything.
It's actually my edge device, firewall and everything, so all port forwarding etc, happens from right there.

I have mines set, to tell connections use whichever line is fastest at the time.
So perfect for multi-connection downloads, or plenty ppl in d house suckin bandwith.

ok that hardware won't make a diff cause it is using 10/100 ports not 10/100/1000 so hooking up 2 100mb connections to that won't give any extra speed you need something with gigabit

like this one

http://www.amazon.com/Netgear-FVS336G-ProSafe-GigaBit-Firewall/dp/tech-data/B000X1B4W4/ref=de_a_smtd

any way i will do those over seas test as you all wanted but i get 15MB/s downloads on my torrents from private sites like Revolutiontt.net

and about the same from downloads from Microsoft and Nvidia (128MB drivers) and just about any high bandwidth site the problem with having 100Mb is that you won't get that on every single site you go on it depends on what is the max bandwidth the site offers

ok the test results u guys wanted

now bear in mind i am connected directly to the modem which is a gigabit port

now i am sure if any of you test the same locations with a 25mb connection you will get the same results well aside from the upload as my max up is 7mb but it should max out your 2 or 1 mb

Yes, so having a 100mb connection, eh make sense, unless you need d increased upload.

i got d 50meg for d 2meg upload, otherwise i would have downgraded to 25.

But 7meg upload on d 100mb seems compelling, i mite consider upgrading after all.
