Finding out what security a site uses

so im doing some online auction whats-a-ma-whos-it for an assignment for class

but i having a little trouble trying to find out what security the sites using, as they not really telling me off hand. (with the little images on the bottom of the site and such)

these are specialty auction sites, not like ebay and what not, doh ask, that is what the white man ask for.

anyone know of any site to find that out, like how i could find info out about a site's servers using who.is is there a similar site to discover what security a site is using?

or even if you could point me in the direction as to what to look for in the page source anything would be helpful right about now

yup, nothing much in the page source, or at least nothing that's obvious to me, after some digging, found out a few of the sites i was looking at use ssl, which is gonna have to be enough for this assignment

Both will give you the information you seek on any domain.
