TSTT Latency gone up
« on: March 11, 2009, 11:28:25 PM »
Alright.. so up till recently (last week) my 1mb connection from wesuckbal.... I mean TSTT was working fine enough. Low enough latency to the US and this week WTF... my latency to NYC has gone up to 250+ms and my continuous ping to google is also in the 230+ ms range. I did a trace route and found something interesting:

Tracing route to www.l.google.com [74.125.113.147]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1     1 ms     1 ms    <1 ms  x.x.x.x

 17   240 ms   260 ms   174 ms  216.239.47.242
 18   281 ms   297 ms   280 ms  vw-in-f147.google.com [74.125.113.147]

Trace complete.

Now... err... considering i'm too lazy to cross reference if that's who I think it is.... anyone else experiencing lag in games? longer latency (of course I notice this on Xbox Live and hence decided to investiquire)

On a related note, speedtest.net still gives me a RIDICULOUS latency to FLOW speedtest servers of over 500ms... feedback appreciated ppls.

Normally I get those "request timed out" results from firewalls.

I'll try another trace from a blink connection @ the office and see.

Well its official, TSTT sucking to a whole new level now. My pings so high now I cant play online anymore and i cant seem to get a download going over 100kb.

It all started when they started doubling speeds and just kept getting progressively worse. It seems TSTT just upgrading everybody account but dont have the bandwidth or infrastructure to support it.

they catering for all the interplebs who can't seem to login to facebook or myspace fast enough. utter bs.
imagine this nonsense, my uploads increased (2x in fact), my downloads decreased, and my ping raising faster that doubles in a flour shortage.
