iPhone OS 3.0 Beta

Anyone installed it as yet?
Does anyone have an Apple Developer License even?

Its so tempting to install to my ipod touch, but what is happening is that once apple detects an ipod touch/iphone on itunes that has not been authorised by an apple developer,
the iphones and touches are locking and cannot synch with itunes.
Not a big deal for some, but its a big deal for me.

Persons with a paid 99USD Apple Developer License can authorise up to 100 devices using a special identifier code.
One its authorised you can sync, no problem.

The workaround to this is disconnecting your internet connection everytime you connect your iphone/ipod touch.
Doable, but annoying.

So again anyone installed it?

Wow...took apple two and a half years to realise that copy/paste is a feature that people actually use. Brahhhvoooo

Well I ran the install, got a kind dev to authorise my ipod.

Copy and paste works really well.
And Bluetooth activated on iPod Touch is nice... BT headset synced nicely.
All the new features have really transformed the device.

Safari browser handling pages faster.
Youtube accounts, subscription support.
etc..etc..etc..

But this is the buggiest beta I've ever tried.
Serious compatibility issues with older applications.
Alot of crashes etc..etc..

Now reverting to older firmware 2.2.1, waiting for a much more stable 3.0 beta.
Simply put, this new update is basically making your iPhone or iPod into a new device.

lol...you're gonna want to hold off on any beta or the final thing til they jailbreak the new update.

As a precaution to anyone on GATT who wants to install the beta on their iPhones...
DON'T!

If you do, you kill any jailbreak/unlock on your phone.
Also if you revert to 2.2.1 firmware after you've played with the 3.0 features, the phone function will not work.
You'll have a ipod touch basically.

Reason behind this is that the 3.0 update overwrites the phone's baseband,
so when you downgrade to 2.2.1 it sees the 3.0 baseband and the cannot function.

The iphone Dev team has done it once again.

Announcing the latest jailbroken OS 3.0 firmware....

Please be advised that the team advises all those who wish to upgrade to wait untilt Apple Dev works out the numerous bugs and backwards compatability issues associated with this firmware. Please bear in mind the overwriting of previous basebands which will not allow yr phone's tele functions to work if u revert to a previous firmware
