Gems of last generation

I decided to start a post on those gem games we loved but never really made it "big" in terms of sales from yesteryear generation....XBOX,PS2 and Gamecube era. Please feel free to post here if you came across anyone.

When I mean gems i do not mean MGS2, Splinter Cell, Halo, Mario....stuff that everyone knows. Anyway here are a couple i remember off the bat that i enjoyed...wow all SEGA games too!

Otogi - You play as a resurrected warrior from ancient times who has been recalled to battle a new evil. This was really one of the closest games I played to feeling like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon style games. It was hard as hell too!..there was a squeal


Panzer Dragoon Orta - Straight up rail shooter. But what an amazing game! When you see they designed a language JUST for this game (when characters spoke)....that was friggin amazing. You had a 360 camera angle and 3 attack styles.


Gunvalkyrie - on HARD AS HELL game. Used EVERY single button on your XBOX controler, down to pushing down the thumbstick to dash. To be honest your jepack only pushes you about 10 feet in the air..the trick is to use boosts to build points to refill your boost guage and power up to Mobius Mode where you can boost consistently for a short time. A real boss will NEVER touch the ground on a level.

panzer dragoon orta was mad, but i never really got into it because IT WAS TOO BLASTED HARD!!!! my blood pressure couldn't handle it.

i remember minibob playing that for sweat a night an i was like zomg this is madness

Yep, thats the one.  I first encountered that on the Dreamcast.  That game hard no MC.
I don't think I EVER made it past level 3, but if you think THAT is madness, check out Mars Matrix.

Suikoden 3

it did okay but was pretty much overshadowed by Final Fantasy and other Sqeenix titles. A really great RPG, imports your PSX save from Suikoden 2 and changes the stats of three characters plus some names. The story plays out in chapter which shows you it from three points of view. Truly one of the best RPGs out.

He is still the only person i know that has beaten the game. I reach stage 5 once

Mars Matrix wasn't as hard as Ikaruga imo. Granted back then my hand eye coordination was better than it is now.



NOW THAT IS MC HARD


Grandia 2 was my favorite RPG of last gen.
