Help choosing a new video card

Guys i want to upgrade my video card but i do not know what is good out there for under $170 USD.Right now i have a 8800gt 512mb (g92) version but it is to slow for the games out there.


So what is a good video card for under $170 USD that is better than what i have.





BTW can a 9800gt & a 8800gt work in sli since it is the same card with a next name.

the 4850 i believe outperforms the both of those with a good margin, can a 4850 owner confirm?

with respect to the sli thing, it's quite popular... with google i haven't seen a confirmation that it works. I do see a
forum post where you can flash the bios of an 8800gt to a 9800gt's bios, and then it may be possible, but all of that is just a gamble.

It won't work.  9800 GTs are slightly different from 8800 GTs in that the BIOS is different.
SLI won't work with cards of dissimilar BIOS revisions.
