Ok, of all the 'bad' stuff you listed, would you use any of those?

I've never used Firewire.  Never needed it.

Never had a use for dual-LAN.  NICs are so cheap nowadays, thats no longer an issue.

As for RAID...I've never used it either (shocking, I know ), but as Sax can tell you,
it boosts OS performance significantly.  I just find the hardware overhead too much to
stomach, and HDDs have not reached the level of reliability for me to be comfortable with
such a setup.

Not having e-SATA can be an issue, if you have some e-SATA devices, but if its any consolation,
any e-SATA device/enclosure you buy comes with cable attached to a backplate, so you can convert a
SATA port on the motherboard to e-SATA.

At its current price it should cost just about 800 TT (including Ezone freight) to import it,
plus a lil 'summin summin' for my trouble.

I've never used firewire myself.

I've had use for dual lan but that's for setting up routing on a network. Nothing you'd do at home, unless you shared the net with a bunch of other peeps and wanted to do some traffic shaping to ensure no one can "abuse" the entire pipe.

Never used software raid on my home PCs either. Only in office settings.

Never touched e-sata either. I've got SATA external housings that work just fine with regular USB ports.

800TTD for the board is real good. i sure that will go for much more in store.

as for the cons you cant get everything on a budget. but even so the board comes with enough to satisfy the pallet.

I kinda shocked to know that the board not hitting the 1600, mine could do 1600 without much effort, hell it running @ 1600 for the last 8 mths or so. (abt the same time i got my CPU cooler)

with the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3LR in 2nd, the board has the new ultra durable 3 stuff on it and raid which is the only real diff between them i think.
