Those reviews have come in a bit harsh...
After examining a couple more reviews which are at 9/10, 9.5/10, 8.5/10 etc...
Its a mixed bag just like Assassin's Creed.
I didn't like Assassin's Creed personally but loved to death the Mirror's Edge demo.... (Contrary to the reviews I played the demo pretty much flawlessly, it just felt fluid and right..)

So yea...I will still be getting this...

one thing i wanted to say about the reviews, is that people complained about having to look at the ground to land the rolls properly and wanted the view changed so it would be easier to accomplish moves, but to me that just sounded like it made the game more realistic, as you HAVE to look at your intended landing spot in parkour and must visualize properly or face the consequences. So ill hadda play it before i can say people are justified in their concerns

I couldnt agree with those comments. Although they can be justified, for myself it was simple anticipation of knowing when to jump with the timing was perfect. They always say the game is "momentum" based according to the review.....yet none of them seem to know wtf to do when they get the momentum.

So I 'acquired' the pc version, and all I have to say is WOW. Played the training and the first chapter...wow...graphics and smooth gameplay...wow. Insane chained manoeuvrings...wow. Just....what a game!

I love it. As soon as you realize (if you have an IQ that is above 80) that this is not an FPS but a FPP (platformer) you gonna love it.

I beat this game last week, took on a bunch of games I missed out on last year, Far Cry 2, World at War, Crysis and Mirror's Edge. The only game that stood out for me was Mirror's Edge, the gameplay is really different and everything just seems to flow. I liked the minimalist hud, not even an ammo count. I did find the gun control a bit weak but I think they did this on purpose for you to focus on evading your foes. My only real complaint was that it was too short lol, anyway I prefer it be short and decent than long and boring hehe.

One thing that struck me though is the quality of in game characters, when you get up close with disarming or even during scripted events it really shows how far graphics have come. I mean if you showed me gameplay footage from this a few years back I woulda swear it was prerendered........

Please please let there be a sequel :p

I just played two levels in this game, and dude.... i'm on a high. The graphics are just crisp, the rush from the first person platforming is just breathtaking. This is  a game you really have to play before you say anything, truly wonderful game. All i need to do now is find that 42inch tele to play it on  :happy0203:
