« on: October 26, 2008, 09:53:52 AM »
hey has anyone played this game? dude it's one scary motha clucka.. i'm so glad i don't have surround sound, seriously!..

the game is a bit like 3rd person doom3 without the suckage, some slick graphics and wicked horror movie zombie aliens. whether you have a pc or a 360, get this game yo. i've only started one level and i like it so far, shooting off alien zombie limbs never felt so goood!!!..

Yep...it certainly is rather scary.  Playing this with surround sound headphones is a real trip.  Doing so in the dark will have you
questioning your SANITY.  :hiding:

Is it an epic game worthy of a purchase?
I have money to buy like one ps3 game again on my trip in canada...
Dead Space looks good...
or do I just save it for mirror's edge or somethin?

Well, its as good as, or a little better than Resident Evil 4, but I'm probably just saying that because I tend to like
games based on sci-fi elements.

You wont regret buying it, but if its replay value you're looking for, then get SOCOM instead.

personally i think it loses it's scariness factor after the first hour, the jump out and boo thing not working as it did...yuh want to know what was the scariest part imo...

*SPOILERS BEGIN*

the VERY first part...not having any guns, anything in fact, and having to RUN. THAT was scary...running and KNOWING that sum behind you but so intent on getting away you to afraid to look and when you finally reach the elevator and turing around to see them thing in the light...man that was INTENSE...i loved that part...

haven't played it out yet but will soon

*SPOILERS END*

Just finished watching the Dead Space animated movie...

...which provides an excellent prequel story to the game.  The game picks up right where the movie ends.

Good stuff.  Pretty graphic as well, so don't watch this one in front of the kiddies.

Yep i bought the movie today and watched it.
The animation is nostalgic....kinda old school with a color twist of the new.
I liked the story, very gory and very bloody - the scary aspect does kinda leave after the beginning and just goes straight to gore, but the story does leave you with enough to get into the game. Its not a stand alone movie however, it requires the game for full utility

. A nice setup for the game to start..it ends JUST where the game begins and sets you up right for one HELL of an awesome survival horror.

I think Dead Space and Mirrors Edge will be the two of quite a few "diamond in the rough" games for this year.

yea that movie is some freaky ish, great introduction to the dead space universe. explains how all this madness got started. haven't continued the game yet though, but after watching that flick, i know it would be a hell of a ride.
