And this was your 1000th post too. :)

First off, you'll need a trust fund.  Seriously.  You looking at about 8K to 10K US to build that monster.
The QX9775 CPUs alone are over $1500 US each.  You cant just use any CPU either, as the 5400 board
is socket 771, not 775 (the mainstream socket).

You will also have to seek out mega-expensive FB-DIMM RAM, which is the ONLY type of RAM that the board can use.

Check this article for an idea of what you're getting yourself into...

Skulltrail System = Dildo up a**

I was going to build a skulltrail, but driver compaitbility with CF/SLI is horid., you're lucky if you get games to run stable.
Also the cost of the skulltrail board alone can be put into many other areas of your pc build, to get much higher return on your investment, if money is not an option.
And youre going to buy the very best liquid/TEC cooling out there, 2 of the fastest quads, and 2 4870s X2s, with 2 Fast SSD drives, and so on and so fort. then by all means go for it, but the mere fact that the CF/SLI compatibility is flaky at best wil stil get in your way.

But if you want to build an absolute beast, for same money, then youd be much beter off

I believe there will be a Nehalem Skulltrail variant soon red, so I suggest waiting just a bit more. In the least you will go with a single Nehalem Black Ed. Or such, seeing as Nehalem logically has 8 cores XD (Yes intel is reintroducing hyperthreading on their CSI part). So in the least you'll have the best single package CPU. Or we'll see what the Skulltrail variant looks like. As for the funds, allyuh doh worry, Red could handle heself.

mmmm my 300gig velociraptor should be coming in today.

*calls ezone*

Also, you dont even need as much as a 1kw psu. A 750w will do nicely, even for a system with much more load.

i was going to buy 2 300GB VelociRaptors, but we got a 30" Apple monitor in work, and i just cant get over the screensize and resolution, so im organising to swipe this

http://www.amazon.com/Hewlett-Packard-30-Inch-Monitor-EZ320A8-ABA/dp/B000KI9W74/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1223913940&sr=8-1

*drools*

So only 1 or maybe No VelociRaptors for me atm.

And yea 750 is more dan enough. Its beter to spend the money behind a high quality 750, dan a low quality 1000.
PC Power & Cooling FTW.
