Dear god, how could I miss Flow upgrading their speed?  :crybaby2:

Not sure if the extra speed will make any difference though. PSN barely gives me more than 2Mb/s for some reason, and I'm not a hardcore enough to do private torrents. I'd like to know if they'll increase the upload speed though (10/1 seems kinda sad).

to the op.. about 1 GB/day (maybe slightly more). I have no idea how it comes up so much, but when I check it, it's rock solid at about 30 GB a month.

Buggy as hell.

I have a 6mb package and its still running at 6mb.

Umm the flow link says Dec 1st 08.... so people getting upgraded before hand?
If you call?

huh... Sax?

Had a dumb moment...
allyuh upgraded to 6mb to therefore get the 10mb upgrade? Correct? :P
Can't wait for that speed upgrade...

huh?
I consistently get the full 6mb download speed from psn.
Only once or twice has it ever been slower....that being at very peak hours.
Are you running your PS3 wireless? If so, thats the problem. because I ran my ps3 wireless with 100% signal to router and it had a 2mb cap on speed. very weird..

I noticed that limit when trying to copy files over the wireless... ~2MBps is the cap. A co-worker told me that's some sort of hidden limit imposed on 802.11g

Can't seem to find any additional info at the moment, maybe in the morning the the google brain is fresh...

Yup, wireless. Strange. Will try wired when I get a chance.

yea...well you will definitely get your speed boost.

I noticed the difference when I had my ps3 wireless for a while since I moved it out of range of my wired connection.
I gamed online no problems. Then I carried it back and reconnected the wire...
Noticed my speeds were slow...blamed psn...

Totally forgot to reenable my wired connection :P

Anyhowz..whats your ID on PSN?

^^ Will do, once I get back over in T&T.

I don't know if anyone else caught this, but check this out on the FLOW press release mentioned earlier (the one announcing the 6-->10MB upgrade).

Quote
Consumers can purchase an Acer model with Vista starter for $2,999.00 VAT Inclusive at any Courts outlet during the months of December and January. Flow is offering free installation, a free modem and one month complimentary U-click Unlimited 1 broadband service for the first month after purchase. Consistent with all of Flow’s retail offerings, there are no contracts to sign for consumers who wish to avail of its service offering.

Vista... starter?

Wikipedia tells me..

Quote
Windows Vista Starter
Much like Windows XP Starter Edition, this edition sells only in "emerging markets" such as Mexico, Brazil, India, Pakistan, Thailand, People's Republic of China, Indonesia and the Philippines — mainly to offer a legal alternative to using unauthorized copies. Microsoft does not make it available in the United States, Canada, Europe, Israel, Australia or New Zealand (although users can install a three day trial-version from the 32-bit DVD).[4]

Vista Starter has significant limitations, such as only allowing a user to launch three applications with a user-interface at once, not accepting incoming network-connections, and a physical-memory limit of 1 GB. It retails only as a 32-bit system.[5] It supports only AMD's Athlon XP, Duron, Sempron and Geode processors, and Intel's Celeron, Pentium III processors and certain models of Pentium 4. The usable portion of the hard disk has a limit of 250 GB. Starter Edition comes with some desktop-wallpapers not found in other versions of Vista.

What's that phrase people are using... for the lose? Yea that.  :shakehead:

I hope it's just a typo on Flow's part. If someone can physically go to courts and check it out, please do. And take pics, please.

Also just noticed TSTT has updated their site, and now actually gives information of their Fair Usage Policy (aka Throttling).

Tstt limits kinda low, has anyone ever gotten an email from them on a breach of FUP?

--------------------

Customer's average usage per day shall NOT exceed 4Gb of data volume transmitted (total upload and download usage). This is to ensure that no individual hogs the bandwidth at all times. Exceeding this amount of data will be considered a breach of FUP.

average daily data usage over previous 3 days download speed
< 4 GB daily Full speed
> 4 GB daily Increase contention
