FS: Thermalright HR-03 GT Video Card Cooler
« on: September 24, 2008, 10:13:06 PM »
As topic says, I am selling my Thermalright HR-03 GT Video Card Cooler

http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_page/vga/hr03gt/product_vga_cooler_hr03gt.htm?art=MTQyMywxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==

Comes with cooler, RAM sinks and a free set of thermal adhesive tape (you may need to get very small washers)

Sure compatibility with:
GeForce 6800, 7900, 8800GT (g92), 8800GTS (g92), 9600GT, 9800GT
Radeon HD3850, 3870, 4870 ... see website for full list.

Price: $400 o.n.o.

Comes with a free set of double-sided thermal adhesive tape

Reason for sale: upgrading to a slimmer Thermalright T-rad for use on my incoming HD4870

Please note, if buying this cooler, ensure you have 4 free PCI slots in your system and a spare 92mm fan nearby. The thing is huge! It should be a 'permanent' install on your video card.

Rest assured you video card temps will drop by up to 20C!!
God is dead.

IMO, buying a aftermarket cooler for the 4870 is pretty pointless on account of the fact that the fan by default runs at 24% speed and an increase in a further 24% cools the card from80deg to 55-60 degrees which is much more than sufficient. Just my $0.02

Noted. Will apply your findings and if true, I won't bother to buy... for now

Its true, but you must edit an .xml file to do so, aka the 4800 series 'fanhack'.
