Interesting.  That Q9450 is indeed superior.  I noticed you attained a CPU score of 11854 at 2.8 GHz,
while my Q9300 languishes at 3 GHz with a 10781.  The performance of the two are too close to
one another to justify the hefty price difference (well for me at least).

Try for 3 GHz now.    *instigates*
 

I'm working on the oc now, I think I need a bigger psu as I seem to have power stability problems, as for the price difference, I paid $299 for the Q9450, Amazon prime rules

OH just to note I tried re running vantage but the machine just kept crashing :-( so I'm o6 stable but not vantage at 3g

Your CPU voltage probably needs a bump to stay stable at 3 GHz on that mobo.
Try using 1.30-1.35V and see which value brings stablility.  I only need to go
up to 1.35V if I exceed 3.1 GHz.

Very impressive nonetheless.  These rigs clearly define what midrange/high-midrange (not 'high-end') is.

One thing I do notice is that the older q6xxx quads will oc higher easier so I know I loosing 5th place real soon lol.
