That reminds me; the Last time i attemted to play a diablo game i was in my early teens and my fadda ban me from playin it an make me uninstall it bec of the name of it...the little time i spent playin it it was awsome at the time.l

Interesting article...especially the part about the DRM. That 'always online' type of DRM was made (in)famous by Ubisoft, which is abominable at BEST.

Now that Activision-Blizzard has made all this money off of the game, and there's no big 'hue and cry' about it, what's to stop other publishers from making this a requirement in their games, and make this even more extreme?

In your quest to laud Blizzard, spare a moment to think of what this 'success' may potentially mean for the REST of the PC-gaming fraternity...you know, those of us who would ask 'wtf is "Diablo" anyway?'

I have already had to deal with this crap with Ubisoft and Hawx 2. If I'm offline, I can't play it, and that sucks a whole lot. I've already voiced my displeasure via email to Ubisoft, and politely informed them that I will no longer be purchasing their PC games. As good as Ghost Recon Future Soldier might be on PC, I refuse to deal with that type of DRM.

Come on folks...good game or not... it's time we started taking a stand and speaking with our wallets.

I personally agree with and support this type of DRM. I have no issue with it what so ever. Once blizzard servers up it makes no difference to me. And deters piracy. And clearly 6.5 Million ppl doh have ah problem with it either. Once your game is this epic, you earn d right to put whatever drm and call whatever price u want

Ill still buy it.

Aren't most games nowadays kinda useless without the online component? Really doesn't bother me, once game is of stellar quality.
