Diablo III Cometh ,with a full 3d engine , Havok Physics and an all new storlyine and enhanced multiplayer .
I'd expect this to be released in early to late 2009... Graphics look interesting, nice art work that makes everything look like it came from a painting..
Looks like it will go very easy on people's systems , probably uses the same engine as Starcraft II and will run good on an old 9700 pro or 6600gt.

good news indeed.

Still doesn't look better than Titan Quest, which has been out in the "diablo" genre for quite some time now. Great game.

I know better than to bet against blizzard though, this is there baby after all.

lemme pull that and say

GAWD boy ....you lose stripes for that.
Titans Quest? good LORD. talk about a POOR talent tree design, storyline, level design......EVERY mc thing design.

The game followed a talent tree design that was so sparse with some of the most useless attributes to a character. Your character starts and builds? c'mon....that ALREADY restricts design...and in turn restricts LEVEL design.
The poor reports designers gave to this game are completely viable. Its all over Gamasutra....and these books they teaching us on Game Management and Design.

Shiv, diablo wasn't exactly Baldur's Gate either.

We talking basic hack and slash dungeon crawler.

As great as it was, Diablo is little more than the arcade/atari classic Venture with a graphics upgrade. Remember that game? (I loved venture btw, as well as diablo)

Titan Quest doesn't aim to be anything more than a damn good looking diablo clone complete with mid battle health and mana flask drinking. lol

It nailed that. They could have been a bit more ambitious but I'm happy with what they put together in Titan Quest. Mindless, gorgeous hack and slash action with a sprinkling of story and plot. Definitely monotonous after a few hours play so do take in small doses for best effect.

In other parts of the gaming world, Lineage, WoW, Kotor and Morrowind maintain the standard for proper rpg character development and skill trees.

And what exactly is a "proper rpg character development?"
for ANY game that delves into the form of questing it is MANDATORY to have a detailed skill tree. From something simple like Vikings: Battle for Asgard for consoles, to something complex as WoW, AoC and Tabula Rassa, it is necessary. The reason for the diversity is based on the environment, and the environment in an MMO is COMPLETELY determined by its users. In the event of a World PvP scenario a rogue must be spec'd subtlety or assassination, which is almost completely USELESS in a PvE environment where they are Combat spec'd. And THIS is due to the fact of the change in environment due to the players.

All of the games we are talking about in comparison is designed on a dungeon crawler architecture. This is PURELY PvE. And therefore a skill tree can be different, but must STILL be viable. You cannot have attributes to summon an elemental to fight for you, that REALLY doesn't do much damage, the damn thing cant even TANK. and SIXTEEN points to get it? My point is the talent trees in Titans Quest were broken in parts, and attributes were not viable.

Hey guys just wanna ask something.
I wanna add this game to my "legitimate" collection of games. I've been a fan of Diablo 2 but I never played it online. Only single player or via Local Area Network. Now these types of RPGs (hack and slash n level up) do you have to pay a subscription to play online like World of Warcraft. I've never played online RPGs even though I came dangerously close to peonging Lineage 2, but I just curious...wouldn't want to by this original and then learn that you hadda pay some subscription fee to join a server. Even if ya do I'd like ta know beforehand so I can use MEGA effort and get a credit card.

As a side note. This game looking really sick!
