I'm not concerned about him. I'm concerned about those who are still alive unwitting perpetuating a stupid stereotype that does far more latent harm than it does good. If you read my post you can see I offer him no sympathy.

You used examples of slaves, disease, and the impoverished. There are a significant amount of individuals in all those societies that commit suicide (less so in impoverished countries because they are only living on their most basic on instincts i.e. self preservation).

And thanks for resurrecting my line. Nothing changes.

too bad i didnt see this thread earlier, I agree completly with Neo on this one and before u say anything this comes from someone who has been on the "right/wrong" side of the barrel pulling the trigger, to all who think that life can become a burden and that even breathing hurts like hell... I would say, that again, we have the LIBERTY to chastise those that would think of suicide, or who have committed suicide, because we are not in THEIR shoes, we do not have THEIR perception of what THEIR reality is.

We are lucky enough to say that there is always another option,

"Suicide is a cowards way out" is subjective bullsh**t and doesn't take into account the deterministic nature of how human thought patterns. It's folk psychology ("background assumptions, socially-conditioned prejudices and convictions that are implicit in our everyday descriptions of others' behavior and in our ascriptions of their mental states"...had to pull the definition from the wiki) of the western world and it holds no merit and only serves to create a larger gap in the comprehension of human behaviour. Erm...what else did I cover...it's easy to take credit for one's own accomplishment over overcoming the desire to commit suicide yadda yadda yadda but it's primarily because of a naturally ingrained perspective of death and the consequence of suicide that prevents an individual from resorting to the act. We're not all cut from the same cloth...let's not be naive about the s**t blah blah. That's the important part. Everything else is rage directed at pretty much the world. That's about adequate.

So yeah. Sorry if it comes off like psychobabble.
