GATT seems to focus only on COD4

In speaking with a certain member on MSN, it was brought to my attention that we (GATT, and especially certain mods, myself included)
seem to only 'promote' the playing of COD4 online, and should encourage the members to play other FPSes (or other genres) as well, all in
an effort to foster greater 'kinship' of sorts.  He raised some very good points, and made some very inflammatory statements (which I shall not repeat),
as to why we should expand our focus.

I must admit, I did not see it this way.  My comments were just me, Arcman, expressing his opinion.  I remember expressing
similar sentiments about SOF2.


Sound off people.  Do you agree that we focus on COD4 too much?  If so, why do you think that way?
Suggest some other games/genres that we can encourage the members to buy, so that we can all meet up online
in something other than COD4.

Please keep the responses civil of course, and no console vs PC bashing please.  I think we've beaten that horse to a frazzle.

I guess we have been harping on cod4 a bit much, but who can blame us. The game is that good!! Sure there are other genres that are worthy. Other fps's that come to mind are UT3 and perhaps team fortress 2?

Look at what a couple members are already doing. Just over the last few days, the new matthew dude rallied a few users in the ut3 effort and he joined just last week.

If that user thinks that other games should be played and promoted, why doesnt he/she show some initiative so that it can be picked up?

yes i remembered quite a few complaints on that... people were fed-up of dota-only...

and well i agree that gaming needs to be promoted across the levels... i have been in the UT3 sweats and we are trying to get more people... btw: Gears of war mult wicked

so this is an official call out to all UT3 & Gears of war players, wee need to SWETTT.

Also we freaking dow: soulstorm, bring drinks, anything alyuh up for, it have nfs to swet and all.

But we decide to focus on recrutin for UT3 & Gears first.

Nope apparently note... ah well... was worth a shot. I did recently 'acquire' GOW for the PC so perhaps i'll give it a try... stress on MAYBE... of course being legit could be a problem...

looks to me that all this noise is from someone who isnt very adept in COD4 so is calling for a game he is more adept in. While UT3 is a great game, it never grabbed our attention and rattled it the way that  COD4 does.

How is it a bad thing that we play a GREAT game alot???

not all games are created equal mengz.
But in the spirit of making Trinidadian and Caribean gamers more competitive and well rounded i would agree with the call to have gamers interested in different games, be more assertive and promote said games.

Dont see the need to try and deprive us from all that CODy goodness
