GATT seems to focus only on COD4

but... i'm not about to jump in a server with 20 lvl50 men and i playin @ level 1 :S... it makes no sense man... i'll have to slave and grind to level up... leave that for the wow.... set up some games with some level rules (cant rem the option) but it can be made so everybody begins @ same level etc... ...

neways all this is beside the point... we doh mind the cod4... but run some other sweats too...

Im not calling for JUST UT3, im callin for variety, gears of war, dawn of war.
as i was explaining arcman, noobsgonewild told me bout cod4, and told me i wont realy apreiciate it unles i got to level 50, and told me to buy the game, and i already loaded it up in my cart, after swetin and getin owened by captain awesome. but when i realised that cod4 is the ONLY game played, i changed my mind. i have no problem playing multiple games, ie cod4, cod is a very decent game, but yes true i prefer UT3 gears and so on. so its not a plea from someway dat cant play cod. i was well and willin, till i realise its all u guys play. which makes no sense for d Gaming Association of Trinidad and Tobago, not COD-ATT.

all users have there preference of games, and the UT3 scene is literally dead, not to mention dow, so im jsut tryign to bring to live other options to have some fun.

and NO awesome, i WONT enjoy killin u if u a noob, usualy in games like htat, we pair ppl off on teams, to allow the hot ppl to backup d shitty ones. and since gears is a very close unit, tactical game, u do benifit ALOT from your teammates.

And it wotn take u long to up your skill in UT3, but acording to noobsgonewild, it will take me a while, to level up in cod to pose u guys a reasonable chalenge.

Fear not, i'll try out the ut (for the first time) and see how I stack up against you guys.

But after all, if you're a shooter, a fps is a fps is a fps. Of course there will be a learning curve.

And as a side note, i've seen low level players come in a server and shake up commanders in cod4. So yea,  it can be done.

Well COD4 is an amazing FPS...hence why most at GATT be playing it....becuz it is awesome..

Me personally... I don't play online on PC (cant live with the lag)...so haven't gamed with the GATT fellerz...
Mostly LAN play with my close friends..

And when we sweat LAN, its UT3/UT2004 and COD4..more UT3/2004 than COD4 actually...

and 1 Important point id like to mention. i like FAIR games.
so skill level aside. if a noob comes in to UT3 there is not unfair advatnage.
if a noob comes into cod4, at level 1, there is an UNFAIR advantage.

we can try what phoenix say, and put everybody on d same level. so i wont have to invest 2 months in levelin up juss to swet d game.

ok here is the deal for our GATT ut3 gameplaying, hamachi will be our means of connecting, since online ut3 servers usually give alot of lag, esp for users with connections slower than 512kbps (i.e me..lol)

Firstly, if you don't have Hamachi, you can download it here..  https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/list.asp

Secondly, due to issues of lag, a fix for hamachi was done, it was found that setting Hamachi to use one processing core rather than two greatly reduces lag, you can download that fix here >> hamachi single core activator.rar - 0.02MB

Well first off, GATT isnt the be all and end all of all gaming everywhere, so if you buy the game, you'll have the opportunity to play on a vast variety of servers and not just against us. So the argument about not buying it because thats all We play is...well...pretty dumb.

Secondly, if you are to advance in the game, you must expect to find yourself in some difficult positions in any given server, going against men with more powerful weapons and perks, but all of that contribute to your skills in the end. Every one of us, Noob, arc, jedi, philo all started at level 1 (I hope) and worked our way up. I'd think the BEST way to increase your skills quickly is to play against a bunch of skilled players....

But that's just me.

And yes, i'll be the first one to admit that all shooters are not the same, but and the end of it all, every fps boils down to how well you can point and shoot. Period. I mean, its as simple as that.

And if you can point and shoot in one game, you'll be able to do the same in another and fight up with the other gameplay dynamics until you master them.

playing on the cod crack servers serves the awesome purpose of allowing a level playing field where everyone can get all weapons and all perks.

and even in then it may not be that level cause of difference in experience an talant

but its the same for any and every fps.
i never played gow multi but i have no problem with it.

And with all respect matthew your new here so you dont grasp the full richness of the hordeeee of games we have played.

i mean there isnt any game we havent played at one point in time at some level of competitiveness, and THAT is precisely why we appreciate COD4 so much!!

if u belive every fps boils down to pointing and shooint, you wont last very long in UT3.
cod4 boils down to that becuase when you point and shoot your oponent dies in a few seconds.

if u learn to move and doge properly in UT3 it becomes equally if not more imporantn than your aim.

and i own gears of war, and never played it online, beucase there is a difference playing online and with a comunity. i coudl buy cod4, ut3, and go online. d same way i can wiht Gears dat i have. but the exerpeince is not the same. but here u can get to know the guys. not juss in games, but on forums, xifre, what not. and is a trini scene. lan parties coudl be organised.
and is a more personal expereince from your game. in team games, u know who to pair with who. and your achievements and victories are appriciated more. i used to play quake 3 online, but i got tired of juss owning ppl i didn tknow. and ultimately ended up stopin quake 3.

which is why im excited about UT3 here, it brings more appriciation to the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Amm correct me if im wrong....but doesnt UT have guns or something? Last time I checked, guns are only effective if you point them at your target and....well...shoot lol.

And just as a side note, ive played every ut since the original one so im very much aware of the mechanics of it.

You see, what you're not getting is that to have an edge against your opponent in cod4 (in most instnaces) and most other fps's is to move, dodge and shoot.

Ngw once asked me what is the secret to pwnership in cod. I simply replied...keep moving. Its not a concept with which I am unfamiliar. It applies across the board, not just in ut.

I remember when gatt used to promote a whole crapload of games. From SC to NFS to SF to SOF, there was something for everyone. Over the last couple of years its fallen down to Dota and Tekken and now COD4. Glad to see some UT getting throw around, but while online has grown a whole lot from where it used to be, offline has become almost nonexistant. If there were to be a balance of the two once more, things would really pick up.

neways as i stated before... the learnin curve in cod4 is not a problem... we are gamers... learning curves dont exist ... is the fact that you hadda grind away just to level up to get even...

lets take dota as an example:
you ever went afk in a dota game ... come back and everybody is level 10?... and you on lvl1?... tell me... how did that game feel... especially if the people on lvl10 is people that know the game...

do my suggestion... lets run it with no level/gear advantage

lol the basic...the very basics of fps is to point and shoot, its a fact that ALLL fps's boil down to how well you can point and shoot. Of course there is much more to a fps but that's the basics.

Then I went on to add futher detail by saying that an important part is to be able to dodge and move WHILE pointing and shooting. And its important to note that I eh just talking that because I hear somebody say that. Its because i've used that technique for as long as I can remember and one I still use, making me able to handle my stories.

d basics is BOTH point and shoot AND move, picture u stand up in a stage not moving and juss pointing and shootin like ah idiot rofl.

and movement is more imporant than pointng and shooting, becuase with a bad aim, and u coudl move good, u will still get kills, but if u cant move, and coudl airm perfect, yuh dead like cheeze.

Welll I often see people stand up in the open space and bussing shots. Of course I promptly dispatch them using my knife while laughing to myself.

A moving target is always harder to hit. The trick is to learn how to hit a stationary AND moving target while moving yourself. When you can master that, pretty much all the competition is done for.

Well thats my philosophy...

I can proudly say I became an FPS player due to Unreal Tournament back in 2000/2001...
Was addicted to '04....

In and around the playing of the UT series did I pick up COD1, COD2 etc...
