Burnout Paradise crashing PCs
« on: May 09, 2008, 04:12:58 PM »
Quote
It's not often that games are actually designed to dramatically increase instances of crashing on the system, but that's the desired effect of Electronic Arts and Criterion Games' newly announced PC edition of Burnout Paradise.

Originally released earlier this year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Burnout Paradise will arrive on the PC with a few after-market enhancements. For the series' first test-drive outside the world of handhelds and consoles, Criterion is expanding the game's multiplayer modes and adding "enhanced online features and community-driven content."

In a webcast on Criterion's official Web site, developers assured console gamers that the PC edition would not impact the release schedule for the already announced updates to the console versions of the game. A series of updates scheduled through the fall will add night driving, motorcycles, new locations, and more to the game.

Burnout Paradise has not been rated for the PC, but the console editions received an E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older. No release date has been announced for the game.

my dreams finally came true!!! :happy0203:

this game is alot of fun, i just wanted something other than grid to play, and this is it, unlike need for speed undercover which i uninstalled after driving the first car. Total fun, the crash effects are SICK!!!, and i just love the bikes.

Also wanna mention folks, that this game is "free" to play online... once you got an EA account, you can sign up for one though.

yeah, but the bikes really do feel like an after-thought. when u crash them, the rider vanishes and the bike barely takes damage. i wanted to see my rider fly 50 feet in the air and smash into oncoming traffic, but i guess that would bump the rating up a couple notches.

Haha yeah this game is cool, yeah no driver in the car either. A body flying through windshields would have made it too gory lol. It's cool how the care crumple in slo mo

Man I wasn't gonna install this game until I take the time to finish out grid but I am so glad I did.

It doesn't get any better than running somebody off the road and seeing them crash and crumple in slow mo.

If you just wanna race and have fun this game is it

OK, I got the game, and it runs beautifully at max settings, but can it do LAN multiplayer?
It wasn't readily apparent from the menus.

...Ok, some quick research revealed that there's no LAN play. :(

Bummer.  Its such a beautiful game.  I would have really liked to add this one
to my LAN-party roster.

So apparently im quite late to the party, but I managed to reach Class A License inbetween studying for exam...

Sweet graphics and fun gameplay. I like the "find you own way to the finish line" concept. It doesnt make the game too easy, yet is not difficult to get the hang of.
