Is it better than CoD 4? if not, epic fail.

CoD 4 looking like the new quake 3 yes. A new era iwmc.

Any game on the horizon lookin to dethrone it?

The demo for both PS3 and Xbox 360 was out yesterday June 5. I have played both singleplayer and multiplayer. The game is very good. I have battlefield 2 and 2142 on PC and I can say that DICE has really come through with making a proper Battlefield for the console. It was a good move to specifically build it from the ground up for the console instead of trying to port a PC game to the console.

There is a reason its not coming to the PC. DICE doesn't want to simply port a game to the PC since they believe a PC game has its unique characteristics and challenges etc when creating a game for it.

In the demo the only mode is gold rush but with the launch of the game, the bread and butter conquest mode will be available through DLC reportedly for FREE.

The game is fun, vehicles are fun and graphics are great. Definitely check it out. I will be purchasing this one.

The single player is humourous, fun to play and has a interesting story. I love the interactions of the squad. Haggard is my favourite. LOL

I think its pretty decent actually. Will need to get the full version before I say its better or not as good as COD4, however suffice to say so far the multiplayer on live is less laggy than COD4 and with as many players so they get REAL points so far. Let's face it, if when it comes out it runs better on LIVE than COD4, then i'll give it the go above COD. The destructable environment is also a HUGE plus, not to mention variety of vehicle and the graphics, though not as good as COD ATM is pretty good for a beta and with a little polish will give COD a good run for then money.

Played the demo today myself. Great stuff, even for a demo, altough the hit-detection seems a bit off.

Me wants it. :happy0203:

The graphics are pretty good given the size of the maps, and well the demo is laggin for me at times, I think its cuz there are limited servers at the moment. Is everyone getting this? It's always more fun with squads :p

Just an update on the demo from badcompany.ea.com

Greeting soldiers,

We would like to give you an update on the Battlefield: Bad Company demo, which so many of you are playing and enjoying right now!

We are thrilled to see that the interest has been extremely high for this demo, and we have ramped up the server capacity along with the interest. In addition to the increase in server capacity, we have tweaked the server configurations to cater for a higher amount of players. This is handled through changes to the back-end, and no patch will be needed.

We are aware that some players on the Xbox 360 are experiencing lag, caused by MS server configurations, and we are working on a solution to this. Our team is working around the clock to address this issue and we will provide an update as soon as we have more information. Players playing the demo on the Playstation 3 are unaffected by this lag issue.

Thanks for your patience!

Your DICE team
