As if turning off those features will decrease a CPU's lifespan...steups.

I hate misinformation...

Well its not exactly misinformation now is it. The lower the frequency the less heat produced and we all know less heat = longer life.

But the heat difference in idle temperature with and without throttling is definitely negligible.

Further than that, the amount of service life that will be gained from using throttled multiplier is well...very possibly close to zilch and considering the short cycle in which we techs swap out parts, the point is made even more moot.

But, I guess a lil caution never hurt anyone.

WOW. :awesome:  Impressive OC's all around.  You even pwnt my Vista score.
That 8800 GT must be still smouldering from such a manly OC.  I will only dare to push mine to 700/1000/1700.

manly? hardly...i freezing my tail off right now...anytime i OC'ing i send the A/C to full blast low as it could go...i got higher temps than stock but they were well within the chips margins (i believe the max on these chip dies is 90*C)

the throttling still on...remember when it getting jam it does hit to 8X

I pretty sure this cpu could take a lil more jamming but ram holding me back...

The 8800GT I had wouldn't go past 701 and I had a $600 aftermarket cooler on it

Its like CPUs. Sometimes you get a GPU that will OC its ass off, and remember, he is under level AC as well,
and you are under HC (hot conditioning...:laughing7:).

That one factor is what made all the difference here.

had to try ah thing...fail ofc...

13376

250 or so more...stuepsss...(we need a stueps smiley...give me ah timing...)

Barley any change to the CPU-RAM O/C, the new bios just gave me about a 5Mhz stable boost to O\C

CPU
Frequency = 3440Mhz
Vcore = 1.3625V
Multiplier = 8X
FSB = 430Mhz
FSBeffective = 1720Mhz

RAM
Vram = 2.1V
Frequency = 430Mhz
Timings = 4-4-4-12

so, after you watch the OC on the card, don't freak out, temps were barely hitting 70oC @ load (max is 90oC for the die), on a normal card that is a feat.
Ambient temps were about 20-25oC, so i have about a 10oC 'lee-way'

i have GPU and RAM/MOSFET sinks on the way.
I'll try again then.

Visuals, cuz i eh put so much effort to hide cable for nobody to see, and the sticker was coming off

hardluck dey neph.. but i feel you hitting a wall.. meaning.. u may not go higher than that.. the oc i see you have on that 8800gt, i would be shocked if you go higher and get it stable.. seeing that you getting a 3rd party cooler it may reduce the temps, but the voltage requirement for the higher clock speed would have to be satisfied.. unless you volt modded your card already. but good luck on your venture. you have sheckin 13k.. feel niceeee..lol
