From that pic, I can't even tell what your CPU is set to run at.

I usually use 10 runs of LinX.  There's no golden rule though.
20 tests * might * be a better way to gauge stablility, but it may not be absolute.

1st thing I usually turn off when OCing though is EIST and/or Speedstep. (Be a MAN, got-DAMMIT!!! :))
Will you actually notice the difference in overall power usage?  I think not.
What's the point of having those features on while OCing?  The very nature of OCing means
that you are no longer considering overall power consumption versus overall preformance increase.

Having the system varying voltages and frequencies just introduces another variable
into the whole instability 'mix'.

...and yes, moderate overclocks of quad-core CPUs almost ensures that motherboard voltages
must be adjusted and tweaked.  There's no hard and fast rule.  You need to do some research
as to what voltages need to be adjusted for your particular motherboard.

Case in point.  That same Q9650 that now resides in my Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R was MUCH easier
to OC to 4 GHz than when it resided in the Asus P5Q-E I had before.  The voltage settings for
both motherboards to achieve stable 4 GHz operation were very different, with the Asus board
actually requiring higher voltages than the Gigabyte.

Let research be your new hoss. :)

uhm, yuh block de score on 3dMark

What clock you got on the cpu? All we're seeing is the idle clock (2.4GHz)

damn, Arcman beat me to it...

EIST is on, because as you said, since i won't see any real diff with it on than off, i just left it as is.

400x8 at load, so 3200mhz, will redo the screeny with linX running to show the load frequency.

No increase in voltages was done. In fact, this overclock was unintentional, i though that i was running the chip stock till i benched it. i switched the processors and the board kept the previous settings. which is pretty much what the avg overclock on this chip (and the last) was, fsb->400, no increase in cpu V (Vchip is set in bios @ 1.2) and go.

10 runs in linx it is then, (which i pass already). If i can get more then i'll consider it an indication of more headroom. my ram have to change out bad though. HyperX is balls for OC'ing.

Hmm well looks like meh run in the top 10 over (for now)...

you weren't man, kflaby i think holding 10th at 15xx0k 3dm06's. we fighting for 11th :(

50 runs of LinX for the least. I irun 150 plus for guaranteed stability.

It depends on the problem size u choose. I usually use one that uses at least half of the installed amout.

Yo Neph... you score 14146 @ 2.4GHz? why don't you crank to 3.4GHz and repost your score?

So what was the core speed that landed him that score? (i'm interested to know as my latest OC pushes my score JUST above his XD)
