Olympic Torch handed to pro gamersNational Elf ServiceBy Nick Farrell: Monday, 21 April 2008, 8:40 AMWHILE CHINA SEEMS to be spending a lot of its time and resources protecting the Olympic torch from being snatched by protesters, the sight of the flame seems to have softened its tough line on online computer games.Once seen as the enemy of the people, and youth who had fallen under disreputable Western influence, professional gamers had been having a tough time of it behind the bamboo curtain.Now it seems that is all a thing of the past and, thanks to a sponsorship deal with peripheral manufacturer Razer, professional Warcraft III players XiaoFeng "Sky " Li and Jae ho "Moon" Jang will both bear the torch as it passes through China en route to the Beijing National Stadium.According to Joystiq.com, Sky is recognised as the world's best Human-class player, while Moon is one of the world's best Night Elf-class players. Both were selected by the Beijing Organising Committee for the Games.
