ALT Problem

I wasnt sure of which sub-forum thingy to put this so i jus placed it here.....plz move it to the appropriate place if necessary.

Recently I've been encountering a problem...Whenever I press the "ALT" button it acts as if I press "TAB" as well and it switches the window. For some reason "CTRL-ALT-Z" brings up the startmenu

I running a quite basic version of XP SP2...nothing extra so i donno wat cud be causing this..I am almost sure that the keyboard is working properly.

I need this problem rectified ASAP because I was about to start a couple projects using Photoshop and well I need my shortcut buttons to be working.

Any help will be appreciated.Thnx

cvheck what driver is being used for the keyboard. try a basic Microsoft driver if necessary.

run antivirus scan on your comp

Probably a problem with the kb itself as Nephilim said. If its still happening with another kb, try to get your hands on a usb keyboard which will point the blame to the ps/2 port itself.

if yu have dropped any liquid on yur keyboard recently, it would help if yu opened it and cleaned it out...

OK guys...another problem....I guess its really my keyboard.....probably will get one on the weekend


the system volume automatically goes down and i hav to constantly be putting it back up

iz there maybe a shortcut on the keyboard for this that i cud disable???

You got the volume prob fixed? Think that keyboard need to be changed if you haven't already.
