There's still that matter of the Miami tax and even if that wasnt a problem, those items can be had from amazon cheaper.

last year i bought a 250GB WD SATA Drive from Amazon, and out of the box, it 'appeard' to have a knok & temperature issue, it lasted me about 6 months, then i sold it for nearly half i payed for it, then it errr died

...so, buying local seems like the best solution, if you want warranty support.

Certainly not drives, but why not mainboards?  I have never had any mainboards that I imported die on me,
but then, I always do very meticulous research before importing those.

Local mobo prices are just too high, and I almost always don't get what I'm looking for.

yeah, hard drives are risky to import, no doubt. I still do it for the savings every now and again, but definitely, going local is the best policy.

Mainboards, for a regular PC, local is good enough in terms of price and reliability.

For an ultra gaming machine, don't even think about it. Import iymc. Like arc says, finding the perfect mobo is going to be difficult to begin with. Not to mention you'll spend a ton of money for one locally if you were lucky enough to locate it. Very expensive to get such boards on the Trinidad market.

The savings by importing it would usually be enough that you can order a brand new (better mobo) in a years time if yours fail and still come out cheaper, lol. (slight exaggeration)

I got the 2 320gb HDD's from Hard O/C... (1yr warranty)

Will suffice with the internals til the day comes where more storage is needed...
