Mortal Kombat 8: MK vs DC Universe!

The fact that a lot of the characters have the same stances and combos worries me, somewhat. If the combo system is anything like MK4, I will cuss.

Before you continue, let me just say that I hope you're not going to pull the old 'If you're a true comic book fan, you will stay far from this game' shtick, because that is beyond ridiculous. I think I've gone over quite a few times why the whole logic behind 'OMG WHAT DID THEY DO TO SUPERMAN?!' is, quite frankly, a load of nonsense.

yea.. that is the only thing i don't like at all, the stances making the game dull and stiff looking.. but they have until quite november to do everything right, i hope they are listening to the fans.

First things first, we've already established the fact that Liu Kang and Captain Marvel (SHAZAM!) are going to be in this game. Here are the renders for those characters:

With Cap Marvel in the game this is a definite buy. To my knowledge this is the first ever videogame appearance of him.

At today's Leipzig Games Convention press conference, Midway unveiled four more characters for the eagerly anticipated Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Additions to the roster include Mortal Kombat favorites Raiden and Kano, along with DC super villain, Deathstoke, and the legendary Wonder Woman.

spiderman CAN beat thanos, because thanos ALWAYS lets himself loose just when hes on the verge of universal domination

Warlock deconstructed him the first time he got the entire infinity gauntlet and fought basically every hero and villain in the marvel universe

and the people that took him down were a combination of wolverine and some mentally messed up facially disfigured woman.

He has some mental issue, he doesnt really want to win when he knows he can.

So spiderman CAN do it.
And besides, its within the same universe, same laws apply.

Cross universe is a different kettle of fish.

Spiderman being able to defeat Thanos is subject to what you consider defeat. If by Thanos just lying down on the ground and saying Spiderman had won is meant Spiderman defeating Thanos then yes you are correct. Otherwise If Spiderman punched all week with Thanos not throwing a punch he still wouldn't take him down. Actually his knuckles would probably be bloody after the first 2 punches.

Thanos does self sabotage himself right when he is on the verge of getting exactly what he wants. I seriously doubt seeing Spiderman dead is something that he has been desiring being that it is so insignificant.

If DC vs MK was going to be a crossover comic that would be CANON then yes I would be upset but its not. Its just a fun fighting game.

If you want to talk toots how did Storm beat Wonder Woman in DC vs Marvel with lightning when her bracelets can deflect them?? but that doesn't matter cuz its not canon.

As a matter of fact how could Sonya have won the last game? Is Sonya really powerful enough to defeat the Dragon King?

Green Lantern should really have no magical immunity because the Guardians themselves have said the rings are science not magic but then it is powered by a cosmic power battery.

Anyhow you want a toots explanation for Lantern and WW and I will provide.

The Dragon King returned to New Earth (current DC Earth) after 2 millennium ( or some other really long time) by creating a hole in the multiverse. On Earth he took the name he used when last he was here which is Anubis. He set a decree that whoever could defeat the Scorion King Shang Tsung would lead his army of the the undead.

WW and GL magic invulnerability would we useless against strong magic of those of Zeus, Odin or the MK equivalent the Elder Gods. The Elder Gods put a magic spell on everybody that would put them all the same powerlevel so that Sonya or even GA could have a shot at winning.

All of that is possible in game for Marvel vs. Capcom, and yet from a storyline perspective, it's pure nonsense. I'm still waiting for one person to give me a feasible answer as to how the concept behind MK vs DC is any different from Marvel vs. Capcom, because both feature impossible match-ups between comic book superheroes and characters from fighting games.

So, want to know how Kano's going to beat Green Lantern? How in the blue hell Sonya's going to slap Wonder Woman silly without getting her wrist broken from the latter's super strength? Or how Scorpion's even going to put a dent in Superman at all without Kryptonite?

Seriously? Who cares?
Nobody plays a game and expects 100% pure logic.
If that was the case, we'd all be arguing why soldiers who do rocket jumps in those FPS don't just blow themselves to smithereens just like in real life instead of enjoying the game itself. So quit your whining. It's annoying.
