My 6600 vid card blow jus like tha las night(hate msi). I need 1 a.s.a.p. I have bout $1100 to spend but i dont really have time to order one from away cuz i need it by this weekend. Anyone kno whats the best card i can get for that price and where? So far all i came up with was an 8600GT for around tha price.

there was a X1650 for around that but not sure if its better than an 8600gt....this was at CZone.

Assuming that your system has a PCI-E X16 slot, Arcman has this reaaall bessss 8800gts for sale for only $1400, a steal at that price (if its still available). Give him a shout.

Oh I now check the thread properly. It's already been sold.

yea boy arcman sale rel hurt meh. especially since i need it now. oh well i think i mite have to go with the 8600GT. Anyone here have 1 that would recommend it?

yeah get the gt if it is your only options, but it also depends on what you want to run and at what resolution

I would recommend it. I built 2 pc's with that card last year, not too long after it came out. Interestingly enough its the 256 versions from xfx.

COD 4 1280 x 1024, MAX -> over 40 fps

The only game that was sort of crashing at first was bioshock, but that was a driver issue.

It is not the beast of a card, but it gets the job done for low res gaming.

And its 2 steps up from your 6600

So there you go. Just watch the price because these cards cost ~100US now so try to get a good deal

I recommend the 8600 GTS
Here is a good one for just about 102 US, and it will handily outperform the GT.

i was planning to order the 8800GT but i really need it today. so i guess i'll have to go with the 8600GT. Hopefully i'll be able to get the 512mb version

i end up gettin the xfx 8600GT 512. Its not running bad at all. i downloadwd the latest drivers and ran The Witcher with the 1.2 patch and it ran real smooth in 1044x768 in medium. I even test it out on high settings and it was pretty ok too, I didnt really detect any kinda lag. So rite now i pumpin in a bes cortina with rims. lol

the only bummy thing is 512ddr2 ram. Wish it was Gddr.(oh well)
