Army of Two
« on: March 06, 2008, 11:01:00 PM »
Picked it up on 360 today.......VERY mad game

Its really designed to be played co op online.....single player is okay too but really u NEED to play co op online.

Its got an aggro system where essentially you can get enemies firing at you and ignoring your friend as he makes his was around to flank. If he gets an overkill aggro you are practically invisible and can move to the enemies unnoticed for a short time.

Great teamwork style with some sweet boss fights at times.

You can upgrade your weapons too and it uses the same kinda "conserve dont spray" feature like in GoW campaign mode where you watch your ammo.

Upgrading your weapons can increase accuracy and/or draw more aggro. I counted about 20 different guns to choose from...maybee more and these are still not mentioning the hidden weapons you can unlock later on.

You complete side missions get money, money buys guns and upgrades.

Its got an interesting system but although you can only compare the duck and cover feature to Gears of War try not too. The system is more advanced.....so there are better features and some features that only work well if you know how to.

PS3 owners NEED to get this game.

Online multiplayer is 2v2 teams.

Yeah....I've been watching this since last year, and was pretty pissed when they delayed it till now,
but I guess the extra effort was worth it, because from all the reviews I've seen/heard, the game bossssss,
and Shiv, you KNOW this is my kinda thing.

So yeah...where do I sign?  :happy0203:

Wait Shivadee, can you confirm or deny...

Splitscreen online co-op?
i.e. 2 local players on the same tv on the same online battlefield?

Because this game might be sold..  :awesome:

Hmm i hadda check. I know it doesnt support LAN..which is stupid. You cant co-op on a LAN or deathmatch on a LAN, but then is not like we go have a "sweat" LAN when men have LIVE and PSN anyway.
co-op splitscreen for campaign yes, for ONLINE.....ill check

i REALLY dunno why you BUYING Ratchet and Clank Future. Honestly i didnt find it THAT great. Excellent rental but a very short game.

k...

I picked up this game after beating Resistance for another time with my Dad...
Its alright...

It not so so dred...
I guess its after playing top notch titles like COD4, Bioshock, Crysis, Resistance, Uncharted etc..
It feels not so great...

But its a co-op game, and thats what I got it for...
Feeds the purpose til the big titles start coming out...

To each his own....

Resistance does not suck if I and my dad played it Co-Op 6 times....
>>>

And at NGW, it does have local co-op as well as online splitscreen co-op...
But the quality of the game... I sorta regret the purchase...
It doesn't compare to Resistance for me...

But we only played for like an hour thus far...
And I heard about this wicked Aircraft Carrier mission...
Looking forward to that...

I thought Resistance was a hella achievement from the developers stand point. I read the post mortem in Game Informer for that game, interviewing the developers after it was released.
Dem fellas....ketch their !@@@@@@@SSSSSSSS to release that game in time for launch. Theres a reason why that is the only good launch title for the PS3 at the time. Them men had it REAL hard.
Same crew that did Ratchet and Clank

and just and FYI neither shows them at their full potential. In both cases they had to really cut down on stuff because of technical issues, learning the developers system etc. SONY backed them giving them about 10 systems to develop on where other companies had 1 or 2. Which explains why Gundam sucked. It sucked becuase it was force released, game was not even in beta when it was released.

Yup....
I always like reading/watching those interviews...
The Insomniac team are really hard working and dedicated people...

They make and release their games on time...
Pretty much they have a deadline and they meet it, even if it requires a week of sleepless nights...

Totally looking forward to Resistance 2....

>>>>>>>>>>>>.

As for Army of Two..
My dad and I played for like 3 and a half hours last night..
We got the gameplay mechanics down with the co-op and all...
And the fun factor has increased..

Its a really good game..
Not a top of the line title at all...
but really entertaining..

And that Aircraft Carrier Mission was wicked...!
Agree Shiv?

I don't have an xbox 360 but I played the demo for this with china and I really love it. It's a welcomed change from the FPS stuff.

Yes it's not fast paced and crazy but kicking off the door from a car to use as a shield while your fren shadowing you picking off baddies is sweet just sweet!!

You actually have to do things together!! Not just run around madly.

When I do get an xbox 360 this is a sure purchase for me.
