ADVICE on ASUS Board

So with a P4 he's "hitting 10 easy" while with an X2 5000+ @ 2.6ghz barely passing 9k...yeah...that makes sense.

i think he need to upgrade his specs...it causing real confusion, from what i gather he on an X2 5000 platform not a p4, p4 board was what he had originally with this post but he has since then changed it because the board and chip was his bottle neck

with the X2 platform he hitting 9xxx

Very interesting however i dont think this board supports that, not going to find out thought cause the 8800gts runs fine although i noticed some reduced performance while running cod4. i did some research n found out that i needed to flash my bios to a more updated version. i got an instant jump in performance there. my 3dmark scores went from 8500 - 8600 to 10000 - 10500 points i reformatted so i kinda forgot to save the pix oh well that was for xp i am now going to vista.
as it stands my rig will be using the
ASUS P4V800DX
3.0 Ghz DDR1 400Mhz
2.8 Ghz Dual Processor (32 Bit) Prescott
EVGA 8800GTS 640MB Card...
will post screenies with 3dmark scores laters....

Hey for real i no kid about my performance however the board was holding me back so its going back to the guys in arima n i am currently using ECS EliteGroup board will get specs on that with an AMD 64X2 5000+ chip, it gave me a score just shy of 31000 i like...now the only thing holding me back is my 1 stick of 1g 800mhz (wasn't original board a 478) ram i think ill go for 4....

i am CURRENTLY using the ECS board with the X2 5000 i also added 2 x 2G Kingston DDR800 ram
Vista rates me a 5.3 now with the 8800gts.

and the 10K on he asus board was using XP not vista how ever it was also on 3dMARK03 not 06.

is that all cleared up? n i do believe that the 1g ram will give a lower 3dmark than 4g. ill do another benchi n see

and of course will post results... but so far i got a better performance out of the machine with the added ram... (duh)

Well that makes a whole lot more sense. You didnt make your statements very clear from the beginning, hence leaving lots of gaps that created the confusion. More ram would not give a significant increase in 3dmark 06 score (read about 10 points more).
