Well it's official, Gears of War 2 has been announced at GDC and is slated for a November release, that's right, THIS YEAR! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!! Xbox Live Crew, saddle up, GOW 2 Commeth!!

LAWD!!! I wonder what new melee weapon it'll have to Rumbaby to use hmmm... run around a corner into a laser cutter or some other extremely gratifiying weapon i'm sure!

Well from the Trailer, perhaps the Chainsaw will be sufficient, you might be able to twist the damn thing in new sadistic ways to fillet some Locust! LOL

From that trailer im seeing

1. Better storyline
2. Chainsaw battles

They can tweak the gamplay a bit for the chainsaw but in all honesty i dont think they need to do too much in that department. Which leaves them time to work on multiplayer and a better storyline. the mention of the girl Dom was looking for is seen again. Im expecting something hella good.

Ah see clips of an interview where some guy from microsoft say Epic was well into development of GoW2 even before the first one came out. I just can't imagine what gaming goodness they could add to what is already. . .excellence.

Precisely, people keep saying they hope it not rushed otherwise it will suck etc etc, but think about it, it's a continuing storyline, they had to have started on 2 right after finishing the first one, it was always meant to be a trilogy according to Cliffy B, so it makes sense that they have already had 1 year and a half of development on this upcoming sequel. I look forward to continuing the battle against the Locust.

On a second note, I am hoping they increase the co-op to 4 since all the characters survived the first one, and there is word that they have been tweaking the Unreal 3 engine with word that it can allow up to 100 enemies to be on screen at once. *CROSSES FINGERS, and also find a way to increase the Multiplayer teams, perhaps 5 vs 5 or if possible 6 vs 6. That would be even better, since there are so many Trinis and so little space as is.....

Hmm there isn't much more I can add to this thread so far... someone has said everything I would have said... ah well I look forward to the Chainsaw battles, I was wondering if it would be like Halo 3 where you deflect and try again, or is it gonna be a button mashing competition where the faster bathroom olypic style controller button destroyer wins?

Now wouldn't that be a blast?! Said mechanics can and will work lol was kinda frustrating when someone "peek-a-boo" you from behind.
New solution: See it, roll foward, turn, and lock chain saws.
