MS to buy Yahoo?

Microsoft has offered to buy the search engine company Yahoo for $44.6bn (£22.4bn) in cash and shares.
The offer, contained in a letter to Yahoo's board, is 62% above Yahoo's closing share price on Thursday.

Yahoo cut its revenue forecasts earlier this week and said it would have to spend an additional $300m this year trying to revive the company.

It has been struggling in recent years to compete with Google, which has also been a competitor to Microsoft.

In a conference call, Microsoft's Kevin Johnson said that the combination of the two companies would create an entity that could better compete with Google.

Well its important to remember that vole only offered to buy them out and a sale is nowhere near final, however, with stock prices falling and a looming recession, what's not to like?

Btw xeno, msn and yahoo are already interconnected as a result of a partnership of sorts a while back.

Sorry to say, Yahoo's days are numbered.

The search engine's inferior to Google's, MSN Messenger outclasses it and signing up for e-mail can be nothing short of nightmarish, at times (for some reason, it always re-directs to the main page after signing up for a free account, which means you'll have to sign up all over AGAIN.)

Don't be surprised if MSN Yahoo! becomes a reality. When it all comes to down it, it's really Microsoft vs. Google: Who Eats Who First?
