Keep in mind that only the P35 and 780i chipsets and up support these 45 nm CPUs eh.
If you thinking of an upgrade, you may have to get a new mobo as well.

unfortunately for me, I can't wait. My tv-pc blew a few days ago, to the sound of a loud pop, and funky twits from the speakers. Board is blown.

Unfortunately my budget is severely cut these days since i'm trying to balance 2 hobbies. RC(radio control) and my PC.

In all seriousness, the RC has been more fun, and as it drags me out to the park, it's been better for health, so technically, it's more deserving



Guess i could have waited it out for the 3.0GHz proc @ $183, but I doubt i'd miss it.


Picked up the e4600 2.4GHz allendale and gigabyte ds3l with hopeful overclocking. 4 GB of ddr2 800 - $80!! my god, I remember when 2 GB of ddr2 1066 set me back $300!!  I <3 cheap hardware!
only shrub is the msi passive 8600gt. If I'm upgrading from the x1900xt, It's going to have to be something substantial, so for $77, this is a nice interim. it will do for a tv-pc.
