Wanted: Apartment to rent in St. Augustine

I have been told that you can get "good" apartments in St. Augustine to rent for relatively low rates, compared to the $2500 - $4000 a month for something "decent" in other places.

I hear these places usually target current or potential UWI students.

I am interested in renting one. It does not have to be an immediate thing. The soonest I may do this is be mid-February (by then I should have my car)

My budget does not allow for more than $1000 - $1500/month

Anyone who has or knows of a place to rent or has info that they are willing to share on the matter, do please post.

Kinda bad time to look for such a place in that region: most of the reasonable places are usually rented out at the start of the new school year (i.e. August-September side). It's best to start looking from about June or thereabouts...

Well to a point I am trying to get the jump on those looking for a place when the 2008-2009 school year starts. Even self I see places I like now and can talk to landlords so that I can actually rent place  when it actually becomes available, that can work for me.

  Not wanting to leech off of yuh thread eh SaxMan but i looking for the same deal as well..my location however could strecth from Barataria to Tacarigua.

So people any info would be helpful.
